I removed the speaker, disconnected the wire harness, and then removed 2 torx screws on top of the speaker pod and the one torx bolt on the bottom of the pod that bolts to the roll bar. Once off it's easy to cut strips/ pieces to put inside the pod through the hole where the speaker would go.
Yes. Essentially the tow hook is welded to the bracket that also supports the intercooler from the bottom. So you still need that support but the hook part sticks out about 2-3” too much and has to be cut off - or different brackets used.
Pictures of the bracket on a factory ordered modular bumper. Not sure if this is all you’ll need, but I got pics of the part numbers for each side of the bracket that comes from the factory when the modular bumper is ordered.
My 2.7 tow hooks supported the intercooler. Not sure if other hardware...
I did this swap today without finding this thread first. Here’s a pic of the bracket in question removed from the vehicle as well as a side view of it installed after the hoop part was cut off.
I swapped the plastic bumper to modular and plastic “bash plate” to metal.
One BIG heads up! The tow hooks on my 2021 that are under the plastic bumper (and bolted to the frame) are the brackets for the “bash plate” to bolt to. Well the “hook” (or hoop) part stick out too far and the modular...
I picked up a modular front and rear bumper and I’m not using the rear. $350 + shipping. I’m located in Oklahoma City.
The rear bumper DOES NOT have rear backup sensor holes.
I know what you’re asking. I’m not an “audiophile”. My vehicle before this was a 2021 4Runner and I didn’t do anything to it audio wise. Prior to that was a 2019 F150 and again nothing done except a powered sub.
To give you some perspective my wife has a GMC Acadia Denali (2020) and we just...
So here’s the update. The flash worked the first time and the JBL soundbar is trash. Paired with the stock headunit it puts out as much sound as what you would expect from a $29 soundbar for you TV at Wal-Mart.
So I went back to my original plan. I pulled the rear pods down and lined the inside...
I had the JBL Flash done in my Bronco. Had Kicker CS 4”s in the rear. The JBL and speaker combo was on 30% of the “get better sound” equation. Lining the rear pods every where on the inside I could was the secret. They sound soooooo much better now. I waited to do the dynamat until after the new...
UPDATE:
So after asking the dealership to do the flash (without the sub).. there was zero difference. I went home and swapped the OEM speakers in the rear for Kicker and there was a difference.... so I assumed the rears had some type of limiting hardware on the OEM speaker as well and that...
On the back of the stock speakers (below the part number) is M5XUN and when you Google that the first hit is "Ford Fiesta high frequency speaker". All 4 speakers front and rear are the same.
I think there is a filter on them, and it's the rear enclosure that's adding to the problem. I will say there is no visual difference between them and the front speakers once out of the vehicle though.
if you don't want to cut and splice you can easily twist the end of the wire to make it tight then stick it into the wire harness hole that matches the + or - side. Then use electrical tape to hold them in place. See a few people do this.
I went to get an oil change today and asked them to do the JBL soundbar flash (without the soundbar installed) while I was there. They originally said they didn't want to do it without the soundbar, but when I explained the rears were severely limited and this was to get that function back...
