Also, I wasn't going to drill a hole in the wheel well flare....hopefully the slide-on clips hold it in place....others on the forum said they didn't drill either.
Thanks! I actually was thinking about that, that the clip/bolt would only be anchored to the felt and nothing else. So you pull the liner out, then you slide the clip to sit on the body fender flare lip, correct? Then the bolt would go through the mud flap, felt liner and then threaded to the...
Thanks for the idea.....I thought I was only one who have a problem with the setup. Are you still able to remove the flare for cleaning between the flare and body fender?
I haven't gotten to that step! Actually, I haven't even started! I'm trying to figure out the metal clip D! In step 4, does the metal clip slip over the felt liner? And if so, wouldn't the metal clip rub up against the painted fender flare lip?
I have OEM mud flaps, which have not been installed yet! Does the metal clip (D) that accepts the one bolt slide over the felt liner? If so, doesn't the metal clip rub against the painted metal fender flare lip? I have some spare rubber washer if so!
I have the OEM flaps, and the instructions are terrible! Is the metal clip to accept the bolt, the one mounted between the felt liner and body flare lip, scratching up the painted body? In the instructions, it's Part No. D.
I repositioned my side steps about 2-plus inches back per the pics. I removed the steps, drilled 9mm holes, inserted M6 rivet nuts and then remounted them using the same mounting bolts. Pretty easy. A forum member had posted pics and instructions, which I followed! Now the rear of the side steps...
QUESTION! I have the OEM mud flaps, too, and I'm looking at the instructions, which I think are terrible! It shows that you have to slip on a metal clip (D) each side, I believe to the felt liner, so you can use a threaded bolt. By sliding on the metal clip between the felt and fender well lip...
I only received 42k! My Bronco was built in early August and it stayed at MAP until the end of October because the problems with the MIC top! I took possession of my Bronco on Black Friday, so do I get extra points? Or did you wait extra long?
I would think that they would fit, right! I moved my side steps back two inches, which clears the way for flat, thin mud flaps to squeeze in between the crash bar and wheel well. I currently have the Ford OEM front mud flats, which will fit, but waiting for Mabett's version to come out first...
Hey, I was one of the luck ones to get my Bronco in a decent amount time from Granger (Black Friday)! Absolutely no pressure/haggling....1300 bucks under invoice.....in and out the door in less than an hour....and my wife wondered why I flew out to Granger and drove back to the Chicagoland area...
Are the flares easy to take off with the OEM Ford mud flaps installed? I have the OEMs mud flaps but haven't installed them. I would rather have Mabett's mud flap design, where it seems that they're not attached to the flares.
Unfortunately, I haven't driven my Bronco since the re-positioning! I have a work truck, so it sits in the garage a lot! But come this Spring/Summer, I will be driving it a bunch! I'm hoping the rear wheels only go up/down and not forward/backwards! If so, I will put them back to where they were...
