All good choices. I’d also throw a recommendation for a 300 6 cylinder in an F250. Again, low on power but reliable. I’d also like to see a turbo on that engine! :)
Tough crowd. Ok, so my recommendation is 7.3idi in 88-94 F250. Had one, great engine, just a little low on power from the factory but turbo chargers fix that!
I really like both of those engines too. Too bad Cummins partnered with Dodge. And at this point in my life I’m not interested in another engine swap to get it into a Ford.
As a fellow 6.0 owner I can feel your pain. The old trucks are getting harder and harder to find around here, especially at a good price, not rusted to dust and without a bajillion miles on them. Find something rust free, low mile and it’s priced around $20k (for an almost twenty year old truck).
I want a two door truck. My kid and wife would think that’s silly. Before I had a kid I had several two door trucks. And it was awesome only having two doors. So, now I would only buy something with a backseat. I think lots of people want two doors, just not practical for most when new pickups...
