Just to be clear. This isn't caused by the bolt. Just looking at the diameter of the bolt to the damage radius you can see that they don't line up.
As others have said. Damage is from the mic top. I bet if you flip the Mic top over and look at the location for this bolt you will find some Bronco...
You're right. Those aren't squatch fenders. The extra wide tires threw me off, and that's what I was referring to regarding the extra rolling weight/resistance.
Still not an even comparison. The Bronco was squatched and that's more rolling resistance compared to the 4 cyl Sahara. You can see the tire size difference.
At the end of the day though, I could care less about drag racing the bronco.
I did a search in my area and only found a couple within 50 miles.
But look what I DID find....nom nom nom

I would think it will hold up fine. If they add the plastic additive to the paint to handle the slight flexing similar to car bumper covers, it should be fine. Plus the MIC tops are much thicker than the standard car bumper covers and will have less flex.
Delrin is tough to find anything to stick to it, but yeah, something like that would help keep it centered. HMW or UHMW PE or Urethane would work great.
Adding a foam spacer to take up the lateral movement would fix that. Maybe not even foam...maybe a small block of plastic attached with 3M tape to the rails to take up slack.
Agreed
Tired of the blacked out wheels.I'm actually tired of the satin silver aluminum wheel look too.
I think I want chrome again. (just don't let me buy any parachute pants)
