Guessing heater works longer than gas vehicle might since vehicle doesn’t need be running but may not be able to be driven out.
actually no idea. Just a guess. I know the Mav hybrid can only drive 1m on battery only if you run out of gas.
The hybrids or EV’s don’t work in the cold is a myth. Many, many Teslas and hybrids plugged in outside and driving here and it gets damn cold and we have real winter.
I would go Rav4 hybrid for DD but need 4k tow so Ecoboost Maverick it is until Ford decides to offer the Mav in Hybrid AWD 4K config. Securing the current Mav hybrid offering is even more difficult than the Bronco so this is not happening soon
I drive generally uncleared and usually snowy roads late Nov through March daily so winter driving is really my only focus.
unfortunately no studs as I need drive into the city as well so I’m at the mercy of studless winter tires which the Hakka r2 now 3 are best I’ve discovered
Ok. Makes sense so
Rubi-lockers and brake traction
Sahara-no lockers and brake traction and LSD
this is my understanding of the stock vehicle systems. (LSD Optioned on Sahara but not avail on Rubi)
Don’t get all Jeep mad at me I’m getting a Bronco and trying to figure out what I will heed...
Rubi-lockers snd TracLoc which my understanding is Brake Traction like the Bronco has
Sahara-no lockers and Trac lock/Selec Trac which I understand to be brake traction and a true LSD
both on Hakka r2 265/70r17
^^^^So if I understand this correctly the Sahara with Trac Loc/Selec Trac had the brake traction and a true LSD which is why I found it a much more secure ride on snowy roads than the Rubicon. They both ran Hakka R2’s
my Maverick also has brake traction built into the AWD system. I know...
Not wealthy meaning no cash to burn on modding like big tires etc. Not rich enough to be unconcerned about fuel costs.
im not begging for loose change at the liquor store poor.
Is brake actuated just creating an anchor point with the spinning wheel ? If yes this is common on almost all AWD 4WD vehicles. When it gets bad in snow on pavement you shouldn’t have to lock up your rear. You should be confident enough to continue in 4WD and take turns etc. to be fair I don’t...
can’t afford those. I don’t get that they only have 20” or 21” wheel options with skinny AT tires for a truck that’s marketed as off road worthy.
Recently got a Maverick with the Ecoboost and have a Bronco 2dr on the way. Would have bought the hybrid Mav but no AWD or 4K tow on the hybrid.
I imagine gas prices are killing guys with huge tires. There seems to be some very wealthy individuals on this forum. I’m not in that camp...
The Jeep lsd is made more for pavement and works real well for snow/ice driving on pavement or gravel. I had this on a Sahara and it was great. It quite possibly would burn up off road though No idea.
TruTrac has a solid reputation and I suspect I’ll be able to fit one to my Bronco at some point.
