Headed back out from Houston to Big Bend Ranch State Park next week. I will be trying out “air up”/“air down” system that I built. It’s definitely a copy of what I have seen posted here.
Did the individual tire thing last time. It definitely required a lot of hands and knees in the dirt...
Has anyone taken a close look at the Torx(+) bolts (machine screws) on the Bronco?
I had not ever noticed the head marking. Is this universal except for the SAS beauty rings?
Recently, A WildTrack owner posted he was only averaging 12.8 MPG. I offered the following post:
“I would recommend trying this:
1) Find a highway that you can drive a constant speed on without bothering the other drivers. The road should be as flat as possible with shallow turns. No headwind...
I’m pretty impressed with the FordPass app. Very handy!
I would like to see “Battery Voltage” added to the STATUS screen.
This would appear to be a simple programming change(?).
We just had about 3” of rain here in Houston over the last few days. I opened my drivers door today and probably a pint of water drained out of the interior of the door at the bottom drain holes. So, here is an area where water may be accumulating. My driveway is not flat but not very angled...
Watched a “Matt’s Off Road Recovery” video last night where they broke the steering knuckle/tie rod connection on their ”Morrvair” while trying to recover an electrically dead Jeep.
After removing the tie rod, they were actually successful in driving the recovery vehicle back out to a highway...
Just got back from a “no cell coverage” trip. My FordPass indicates my Bronco operating system (BOS?) software has been updated succe3ssfully. Eagerly, I tried to determine what had been changes/updated/improved. “CLICK HERE TO SEE UPGRADE DETAILS”. Unfortunately, it’s just a poorly...
Got back yesterday from a trip into the interior of Big Bend Ranch State Park (in Texas). The Badlands SAS, 2.7L, performed well on both the long trip out there from Houston, and on the many interior FWD Trails to the remote campsites I occupied.
Sunrise at the Las Burras 3 Campsite:

Isn’t the Bronco Raptor supposed to be the ultimate OFF-ROAD Bronco? Yet, the video I saw (posted here) a few days ago made it look like a high end Lincoln. Is it the ultimate Mall Crawler or can it be exposed off-road to dirt and rain and wash downs?
With Hurricane Ian still a threat to the East Coast, it occurred to me that our Broncos are high water vehicles (yes, Jeeps too). I don’t recall the water fording depth for my Badlands SAS, they mentioned it at the Off-Roadeo, and I’m pretty sure I saw a chart for it….somewhere…. Just checked...

Gaia GPS
Topo Maps +
I am a great fan of Topo Maps + (a premium subscriber) and have used it extensively for backpacking. Was looking forward to putting it on the Bronco Big Screen, but it is not Apple Car Play compatible. Crap!
I have downloaded the App Gaia GPS, but am not yet...

Several people have recovered their stolen Broncos here via the Ford Pass App, and a few others have been able to track their Dirt Mountain experience. Very handy…lock and unlock remotely.
My question is, how do the dealers work on these vehicles when they can be started remotely via the App...
I bought a Badlands, SAS, 2.7L, MIC, Lux, with the rubber flooring. I’ve heard one complaint regarding the rubber flooring….It got submerged and was difficult to get dry underneath. That advanced technology existed in 1950….all metal flooring…. The CJ3A has it. Submerge the floor, no...
I took delivery of my MIC Bronco in Houston about 6 weeks ago. Went to the Texas Off Roadeo last weekend.
OK, yes, it was +100 ÂşF most of the day. I was surprised that the soft top seriously radiated heat into the passenger compartment like an IR heater in winter! You could turn your face up...
Just returned from Off Roadeo Texas. You cannot do it justice with a review. If you have the opportunity to go, you MUST go.
I’ve owned 4WD vehicles (mostly Jeeps) since I was 17. I’m now 71. I was pleasantly surprised at the Texas Hill Country terrain. The trails/obstacles kept getting...
