I popped off the driver side rear access panel and I cannot see the aux wiring. Did anyone try this already and find it? Want to use that line to drive a subwoofer amp.
Update! I installed bass blockers on the two dash 4 inch coaxials. Really reduced distortion and able to crank up the overall system volume without boomy bass. I don't plan on installing them on the rear 4 inchers since they put out next to zero bass anyway due to the small enclosures.
I just cut off the gray connectors, soldered on the speaker wires that came with the aftermarket speakers, and clipped them onto the new speakers. Easy peasy.
I did not replace the 6.5s yet, although I am planning to. One key point regarding the factory 6.5s, they have waterproof cones, which is an advantage compared to the Kenwood Road Series ones.
I will replace the 6.5s when I also install a Kicker HS8 powered subwoofer in the area behind the...
I have installed the same speakers. I think the highs are definitely improved over stock. I did notice that the factory speakers had a bass bypass capacitor installed, so that limits the bass signal coming to the speakers. You might consider buying a pair of those and trying it on the front...
I just completed the upgrade of the 4 four inch speakers on my base system, but in my case I used Pioneer TS-G400's, which are also 2 way and similar in design to the Kenwoods. Definite high end improvement over stock and imaging with the tweeters is better. When I was removing the factory...
I am getting the base audio system. I am fully expecting to be underwhelmed by it, due to the speaker sizes and locations. I was also a former Ford Audio System engineering manager, so I do have some ideas on how to improve it. Ford got rid of dash panel speakers over 20 years ago in favor of...
Yes. Original build week was June 21st. Then it moved to June 28th. Then a month or so ago it moved back to June 21st. Let's see what happens! I was able to print out the window sticker so I have that going for me.
