Sounds like you should test your theory by putting the stock airbox back on.
Feeding hot air to the turbos means they're going to produce really really hot output and there's only so much the intercooler can do to drop that back down.
I'm also OK with getting a late '22 because Ford didn't make any meaningful product improvements for '23. So I'm getting it sooner, I'm paying less, and I'm not really missing out on anything.
When you were bumped from 10/17 to 10/31, did you get an eMail from Ford? If so, check and see if it contains a link to the tracking page and try that link.
I think we are indeed in an overflow "oops" week that Ford wishes they didn't have to schedule.
We should get an idea of the last week for 2022 builds when Ford publishes the scheduling plan for the start of the 2023s.
This is intentional. At the moment, Ford isn't taking orders that are difficult to source parts for. They have enough orders like that on the books already.
LOL Ford was totally open with the fact that there was going to be MY rollover price protection for the Maverick....they mentoned it in an eMail they sent directly to order holders!
I'm guessing they labeled the Bronco info "Secret" because it is gonna make lots of folks unhappy.
I'm inclined to believe that if there was going to be additional price protection via private offers that we would've already heard about it by now. I say that because Ford announced roll-over price protection for the Maverick an entire month before order banks were scheduled to open.

You're going to be there to buy one of the hottest products on the market. They'd love for you to walk away so they can sell it for a $10-15k markup so don't expect them to give up a bunch of profit to show a high trade in value because they're already giving up huge profits by selling to you...
I don't recall ever seeing mention that OBX and High were constraints. The biggest thing that's delaying your order is likely the number of orders your dealer has taken versus the number of Broncos Ford is willing to send them.
That's not quite the whole story. Order banks are supposed to be opening this month for lower priority dealer stock orders, and indications are they're going to be limited to lower-end less desirable builds (4-door, soft-top, 4-cylinder, etc).
High volume dealers that have sold through their...
The information "they" get is probably quite accurate.
The more important question is: How good was "they" trained in the nuances of finding, interpreting, and accurately conveying the information in the system.
I had already resigned myself to having to roll-over to a 2023 then my dealer eMailed me on Thursday to let me know I'd been scheduled! I ordered in January at a dealer with very high allocations.
