Been doing a couple of epic trips with my kid lately as well as some interesting day trips.
In February we went back to Colorado to play in the snow for a week, did some sledding and some snow-wheeling in the old Subaru.
A few weeks ago we flew into Los Angeles and picked up an antique Kenworth...
I can't believe people are still on the "4 banger ain't gon cut it" stuff. The V6 only makes 30 more hp, and with a tune, the 2.3 can make that difference up. The 2.3 ecoboost makes more power than the 302 or 351 that came in the Broncos did. It will be FINE.
It's not like the 2.7 even sounds...
I sold my Tacoma for $1200 less than I paid for it after 60 months, sold my 62 beetle for 4x what I paid, and sold my TDI Jetta for twice what I paid, and sold one of my jeeps for what I had in it.
Created a Twitter account just to bug Mike Levine several times a day about Manual Sasquatch...
Tacoma comparison pic is great. I sold my Tacoma as soon as I saw the new Bronco, because Sasquatch had everything I had planned to do to the Taco already done. Hopefully my old junk Jeep and Subaru will stay together long enough for me to get my '22 BaseManSquatch.
I will probably get some real tires within the first few weeks of ownership and sell these turds to someone else. I got 70k miles on a set of K02's on my Tacoma with maybe 20k of it being offroad/dirt/gravel.
I even have KO2's on my Subaru.
They kinda suck on the Subaru by nature of being heavy...
My dealer seems to think we should be able to order them in the next couple of months, but figures we won't actually get them until next fall. I am patiently waiting. If I can't get BaseManSquatch, then I won't be buying a Bronco.
I sold my VERY nice manual 4x4 Toyota Tacoma as soon as I saw the new Bronco with a manual transmission and Sasquatch, on the VERY FIRST DAY. Then they revealed you couldn't have that. Then after weeks of daily emails and pestering Mike Levine on Twitter, both from myself and many others, they...
I like the Jimny, might would buy one if I could get it here in Tennessee. I came close to buying a Mahindra Roxor and tagging it for non-highway use and continuing to DD my Subaru.
I'm 35 with a wife, kid (5 yr old), and a dog (50 lbs). We willl all be riding in my 2 door, across the country, including trail riding all over. We will pack light, and tent camp until I can get a small tow-behind camper (think tear drop, sub 1500 lb)
I've been doing level 5 stuff in my Subaru lately. My Jeep is broken at the moment from doing level 8-9 stuff. I don't plan to go more than 7 in the bronco. At least until it's paid off...
I'm mainly going 2 door because it's cheaper. Looking better wasn't really a factor, although since I've landed on a 2 door, I've trained myself to like those better. I am literally only here becase 2 door BaseManSquatch is the cheapest way to get a brand new 4x4 with front and rear lockers.
If...
I wish I could just have my Bronco already! This video was great, and just makes me that much more impatient. In other news, I'll be swapping the engine in my 30 year old Jeep this weekend. Bronco didn't come soon enough...
Automatic transmissions are boring, and complicated to repair. As long as the hard parts in a manual hold up, the only common failure is the clutch, which I can usually replace in a weekend for $300 or less.
I simply do not buy vehicles with automatic transmissions. I have an old Subaru with an...
My 2 door, Manual Transmission, base model Cherokee has been doing stuff like this for the last 2 decades. It's about used up. The Torch will be passed to my 2door, Manual Transmission, base model Bronco.
The Cherokee has lockers, lower gears, and bigger tires, and some suspension upgrades that...
I'll be hauling a wife, kid, and a big dog. But we have a couple of old station wagons for that crap. Daddy's getting a 2 door with 35's and lockers. I guarantee we will still choose it for our cross-country trips just so we can see what the unpaved paths have to offer.
Manual Sasquatch is literally the only MY22 change I care about.
But if green paint ends up being a thing, and available for Base trim, I'll prolly have meself a green one.
