Because there has been so much progress recently on builds, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on some speaker purchases as well.
Another forum member was selling an extra Hertz DCX 100.3, so I picked up a pair of "scratch n' dent' from Crutchfield. Hertz DCX 100.3 Dieci Series 4" 2-way...
I think a lot of car audio can be summed up as "$ per sound quality increase". Replacing cheap factory speakers with decent aftermarket coax drivers is the low hanging fruit. Amplified power, passive components, and quality subs are the next step. The ultimate solution is an active 3-way front...
@KHC Dale looks like a nice product. Just a recommendation: I think it would be helpful if you provided the closest prismatic powder code for each of the Bronco colors. Also a small price differentiation for a basic black or dark gray color that you could inventory and ship immediately.
Also...
I'll give it a go...
The factory speakers are total crap.
Replacing the two 4 inch speakers in the dash will give you the best improvement for the money. This will get you much better sound for everything but bass for around $100.
Call Crutchfield or go on their website. Either way, they will...
Also, for anyone with B&O, Plugnplay sells the Axxess A2B which is cheaper than NAV-TV and the kit comes with wiring adapters. Also, the Axxess has a DSP built in. I think PAC is selling a more affordable option as well.
What model year? We really haven't heard much about the 2023 Base audio where they have added a powered sub. If you have a 2021 or 2022, only the B&O requires the A2B interface. The base model outputs a full range signal from the kick panels.
As some of the posts above have stated, the Kicker...
Both seem like good engines. Since mine is a replacement for a daily driver, the 2.7 automatic seemed like the logical choice. If this was a second vehicle purely for weekend fun, I probably would have gone the 2.3 manual route (2 door, delete the 2nd row seats, fewer creature comforts.)
I think the dealer allocations are based on the number of units sold, not reservations. I attribute the high number of 99s to people who have simply given up. 2 1/2 years. No mod top. Concerns about quality. Heritage editions go to dealers. Looming recession.
It could be that your dealer has (proportionately) a lot of reservations and few allocations. The dealers getting those low end builds may be the opposite. Unfortunately, I (like many) reserved with a smaller dealer with a good reputation before the big dealers muscled their way into the...
Tim Bartz has a good rep. I think many dealers just don't provide much information. The reality is that they can't influence the scheduling decisions and don't want deal with questions that won't get you your Bronco faster.
Dealer allocations. Granted, my reservation was June 2021, so my room to complain is much less than people who reserved 11 months before me. It is annoying to watch videos of people who ordered in 2022 (w/o reservation) getting MY2022 higher end builds.
