Yes 4.70s will keep you in the higher gears and take less energy to get you moving in the lower gears. Power and MPG will be better with the steeper gears for 35s
Expedition has been a mommy mobile ever since it lost its rear axle. It’s like comparing the Bronco to the Explorer.
Bring out an actual SUV with a V8, open top, at least one solid axle and I’m game.
If that’s the case why are you on the Bronco forum rather than the sport forum. Since by all means the closer competitor to the Defender would be the Bronco sport.
I saw probably the second new defender I’ve seen in the wild today and I’m pretty sure the Subaru sitting next to it had it beat on...
I don’t think I’ve ever had to buy a harness as every body on frame vehicle I’ve ever bought had a hitch as standard equipment. I wasn’t aware they had harnesses like that.
Unfortunately I was too young when the Defender was available in America I would have loved one.
As far as the new defender I don’t understand how anyone can stand next to one and not be thoroughly underwhelmed, it has the charisma of a Buick Rendezvous with similar performance.
I see they’re...
Yes I meant the molded integrated plastic bumpers all cars have look horrible, I understand they have an (usually aluminum) crash bar underneath but the plastic integrated bumper thing ran out and it just makes modern car look like feminine blobs in MOST cases.
There’s an approximately zero percent chance of that ever happening. Political posturing never makes an impact on reality. California can’t even supply its own energy needs as is without 10s of millions of electric cars.
Where the hell did you read that from?
Do I need to take you step by step in my clothing? My Jeans were made in North Carolina, my shirts in Texas with Georgia Cotton, I have some clothes made by North Carolinians in North Carolina that design for Brooks Brothers stores.
I check where my stuff...
My H2 has a fairly thick stock steel front bumper, earlier this year when traffic stopped faster than I could I ended up hitting the car in front of me at a decent speed. The trunk of the car in front of me was pushed almost into the back seat. I had one corner of that factory steel bumper...
Bronco with 35s and 3.73 will be a dog. Your fuel economy will suffer and your entire driveline will be stressed from being under geared. You will be significantly happier with either gear sets you mention over 3.73s.
I run 4.56 with 37s which feels pretty good, but the case could be made for...
The more gearing you have the happier you will be.
I think you will be fine with 4.46 and the auto, it’s not going to be a speed demon by any stretch but 35s aren’t really a massive or heavy tire so you will be fine. You will definitely lose some fuel economy having the 4.46s instead of the...
I probably wouldn’t get worked up about making the 4.70s a have to have. But I guarantee the difference between the two will be noticeable and make a difference in driving experience. Granted with the 10 speed it will help mask being under geared which will help.
Japan can build a 100% Japanese built 4Runner so I have a hard time believing America with significantly more resources is incapable of building a all USA vehicle. And manufacturing in Japan isn’t cheap.
I think people are Less concerned if the door switches are made in China and they get $1 profit vs a whole transmission where they are getting $100 profit. I can’t pick and choose every component but the one I can choose is damn sure going to live up to the minimum standards I’m setting...
