Doesn't help if Ford won't sell me a 2 door because they can't put a hardtop on it.
They've already said they won't offer a soft top on the 2 door, and there's no way they'll ship it with no top at all, so that means I can't get a 2 door bronco to put the soft top on....
So, this seems to imply that hardtop issues will extend well into next year, does that mean 2 doors are going to be vaporware until 2023? If so I'll go buy a jeep and trade it in whenever the bronco becomes actually available.
Regardless of any other features, the Bronco is definitely better for tall people though, in Jeepās my head is above the roll bar, so in a rollover Iād be dead. The Bronco Iām at least slightly below the roll bar, that alone makes the case for me.
thatās fair. My current truck is pretty spry with the 2.7, which makes me want to go that way, but Iām not too sure about the 10 speed (mine has the 6r80)
One of my last Broncos was manual and was similar. Itās less about situations in 4 low, but just the convenience of having a granny low...
Itās entirely possible this will be the last gas car I buy, so the manual just exemplifies that for me.
compared to the 2.7 auto it is also almost 200 lbs less over the front axle, and a lot less stuff underneath to snag on things (plus no plastic transmission pan).
for the kind of off roading...
This is kind of my feeling. In no small part driven by the fact that when I sit in a Jeep my head is above the rollbarā¦.
outside of Jeep and the Bronco, there arenāt really any other competitors in the segment I care about.
Found the source of the sticker saying the manual transmission (mti550) is built in the USA.

I disagree, so long as you don't add a locker to it.
In fact I did a detailed examination on this very topic.

Here's an excerpt

I had the same dilemma, but once I realized the mod bumper didnāt come with more than just the front skid plate, I removed it from my order. Can get the 4wp bumper and front skid plate for only a few hundred more than the mod bumper option and have a much stronger bumper with a real bull bar.
I wouldnāt take this one as representative. That hill looked like something I wouldnāt hesitate to go up in my f-150, or either of my full size Broncos with the ttb.
I suspect that was more a mismanagement of momentum and choosing a bad line more than anything else.
Ah, okay, that makes sense. I was just using it as an off hand reference to a vehicle with a defect that prevents basic function, rather than a technical or legal definition.
Fair point lol. On a second watch, youāre right, we donāt have enough info to even conclude it was the trucks fault haha
if it is the trucks fault though (due to manufacturing defect), that would by definition be a lemon, no?
Wow, that is not encouraging. I was already worried about there being too many electronic nannies on this truck. Do we know if this is looking widespread, or just an early lemon?
edit: or just driver error?
Thanks for posting this!
Quick question, if anyone knows. If you lock the truck with the fob, and then reach through and hit the unlock on the door (especially with the fob out of range), does the tailgate stay locked?
(The idea being if you were to have this in the truck, but no top, could...
