Ford's marketing people are very good at this type of thing. Just like "military grade aluminum" on the F-150. They never say "military spec aluminum".
I remember that debacle... I also remember seeing an advertising exec critiquing it, and saying "Flocks of geese? Flocks of geese?!? Show us the damned car!"
I did all of those when I was at Sturgis in '92, great trip!
I'll start out on the trails around here, and there are some good ones. But the first big road trip? Utah! I'd like to take my son, and do a multi-week trip. Canyonlands N.P., Arches N.P., Bryce Canyon N.P., Zion N.P., and Moab, of...
When I bought my '14 Focus, my credit score was around 630, and I only had $1000 down payment. Ford Credit turned me down. The dealership did find me decent financing, though. It was through - get this - GM Financial. GM financed my new Ford! ? This time around, my down payment will be much...
When I bought my 2000 SVT Contour, I got a fancy 8x10 certificate saying it was #1441/2000, signed by the head of the SVT team. Maybe FE owners will get something like that. ?‍♂️
Very true. When I bought my Focus, the hill holder feature for MT was reserved for upper level trims. But the necessary hardware was already there. A $20 OBD adapter and ForScan, and 20 minutes later, viola! Hill hold. Auto manufacturers make the most money by upselling us with these packages...
I am, kind of. First, I really would like the 2.7. Second, last winter I slipped on ice getting out of my car, and tore the PCL and MCL and meniscus in my left knee. It is now sometimes tough clutching in my Focus, especially if it's cold or raining. The Bronco most likely would be a bit worse.
I would definitely like a test drive, though I'm sure doing anything off-road won't be allowed. I'm also looking forward to reading reviews from some trusted sources (Car and Driver, R&T, etc.). They will probably have access to them before we will.
Yeah, you can have an "off-road" vehicle with less ground clearance than a Subaru Outback! And it's still going to be $31,500 with that ridiculous $1500 destination charge.
Hey Ford, how about my friend drives me out to Detroit, and I'll pick mine up at the factory, and keep that $1500...
