I think the 4R platform is tired and due for a refresh. Over use of formed plastics make it look cheap. I keep hearing Toyota has a new platform in the works. Let's hope they stick to their body on frame heritage and don't make the new 4Runner look like the dreaded crossover that so many car...
4 door with Sasquatch package... I never plan to leave the pavement. Just want to "look" the part.
Most likely just drive it and my future ex-wife and muli-daddy kids around with the doors off and tube doors on.
- shuttling from Starbucks to my kid's gender fluid soccer league games so they...
Buying a 4 door BL. I know the value of "no doors" when offroading in technical areas as you are constantly getting in and out as a passenger and consistently leaning out the door as a driver to get a better view. Quick entry and exit means muddy boots are kicking the door panels... Its one...
As long as you can turn it off, I couldn't care less. Wife's beamer has it and I turn it off every time I get in the car. Air Condition works better with the engine running. Hot as hell in traffic in Florida... Tree huggers can go butt-a-stump. I'm running my engine.
The subject matter is the true EV, not hybrid. Although its posted in the Hybrid section of the forum and is likely why this post is getting so many "hybrid" comments and opinions.
At any rate, Its a good find by the OP and I happen to agree with Outside Mag's synopsis that the true EV as an...
Was hoping someone did the math. Nice work!
Thanks for showing your work. Some things to ponder if modeling and estimating:
Given production will share Ranger facilities, parts, and line:
Ranger sales (SALES) are at around 85k to 100k/yr North America. No idea how many are actually produced...
Had the same concern with going Sasq for a daily driver....
Look at new Jeeps with stock 33's... years ago they looked great... today... Underwhelming.
Im going sasq and dealing with the 35's.
MPG calculators on the web suggest I'll spend an extra $200 per 10,000 miles (assume losing 3 mpg with...
I asked my wife and she was indifferent...
So, I asked my GF and she said get the Badlands w/ Softtop and sasquatch.
I like the MGV but concerned the rubber floors will look like youre riding in a golfcart.... She said aftermarket carpet is less than $200.... You can add it later....
So, BL Sas...
Its not going to "kill" your gas mileage or your top end as there are tradeoffs in geometry as pointed out by a poster earlier. (Although I will add that the 35's are 1.5" wider... Yeah, larger rolling wheel will help MPG, but that footprint is resistance.... contact patch is larger. Prius uses...
kinda wish I hadn't seen this posting... JK.
I was all in on WT Sas and now thinking BL and optional rims with 33's looks good and is more practical. I can always upgrade my tires and put a lift in later.... Just like 99.99% of the Jeep owners out there...
Plus, my overland rig uses 33'' tires...
Honest post and great question, but you're on a Bronco exclusive forum... Thus, you are gonna get blasted... mostly by gif posting forum junkies from the safety of their mom's basement. I posted something similar way back comparing the body-on-frame explorer (2010 and prior) to the new Bronco...
Gas will actually get cheaper as more vehicles move to electric. (Supply and demand) A California type excise tax can drive up the price/gal but there is plenty of supply and plenty of facilities that efficiently refine oil to make gas. Its not going away in our lifetime.
L-ion battery tech...
The B&P version is hardwired to the vehicle. Thus, no battery dependency. That's an advantage of adding it via B&P; however, as I've said before, I like mine hidden. So, I get the battery versions after the purchase and stick it on out-of-plain-sight.
The aftermarket option is wireless and runs...
if you're a cyclist, runner, swimmer, et al, you'll love it because you don't have to carry a key fob on your body when working out.
FoMoCo Parts sells them for like $80. They are wireless and last for years (like 5 years or so and they warn you when the battery is getting low).
I stick them...
This topic began with a reasonable question/concern and turned to conjecture and hysteria...Like so many other topics on Bronco6g...
Biggest issue we all have is that FORD is mute on answering our questions.
A brand manager needs to do a Youtube type live-cast Q&A so that we can get concrete...
I have the same concern. Love the look, but I plan on doing some cross country traveling. The roar of MT tires at 70 mph for hours on end kinda concerns me. I believe I read somewhere the Wildtrak has additional sound insulation...Maybe that will help... maybe I mistook what i read....
The...
Neither... My suggestion... Take it for what its worth...
I'm going with the stock WildTrax bumper (which actually looks good and has no upgrade cost) Upon delivery, if i don't like the stock bumper, I'll upgrade from Quadratec or RPG, et al. The aftermarket is ramping up quickly and will have...
I think the result in the poles will change as (and if) Ford addresses issues with the B&P's conditional options selector or if they get the Brand managers to do some interviews and Q&A sessions.
Subjective view: It doesn't look like a $60k vehicle based on the configuration limits. e.g.
- No...
