Yeah it's crazy to me that my 2012 escape that was like 21k new has less plastic warping on that piece than broncos that cost between 30k-100k. Granted there are design differences, but this is clearly a case of the bean counters asking for a cheaper/thinner part than they should have.
I just wanted to mention that I am now having this same issue now that temps in my area are above 80. The flex is less pronounced on mine than yours, but there is still a 1/4-1/8 inch gap at the center of the windshield.
I loosened the bolts at the mirrors and pulled the facia taught, which...
Yeah I am not a fan of the current ranger front end. The thing that ruins it for me is the piece that wraps around the grill and bumper. Ranger Raptor looks fantastic because of the body color panel between the grill and bumper.
To me the ranger suffers from the fact that European tastes prefer...
For some reason I thought the sas suspension has different swaybars. I mentioned steering rack due to the people breaking sas racks after adding 37s, but I see your point about street driving, not much danger of impact. I just figure that is a lot of additional unsprung mass on the stock rack.
Gearing wise you would be fine, but you are still running 37s on axles and steering designed for 31-34" tires. IMO this wouldn't follow your "keep everything from wearing down quickly or damaging other parts." requirement.
You would most definitely not be covered under warranty in the event of...
It has some funky body lines in the rear fender area. I also like how they used high texture bed liner to hide all of the imperfections.
Not for me but I'm sure somebody will like it.
I will second the statement about sticking to 33s.
My BB has 3.73 gears with 285/75r17 (33.8" diameter) and that would be the largest I would want to go given the loss of acceleration and slightly reduced torque I've noticed.
If you wanted 37s you would need a new FDU, rear axle, steering rack...
Yeah this sentiment makes no sense to me. I dare that guy to show us a modern bronco that looks closer to 1G than this.
Heck even the builds from Vintage Broncos have funky proportions.
Looks excellent! Love the painted grill and KBD flares. Out of curiosity, what rubber welt did you use for the flares, and where was it mounted? Was it just to gap fill?
I noticed that lol. I was half trying to bait him to waste his time.
The banned guy in this thread (vxax) has tried to scam me twice with the same photoshopped photo, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same guy again.
I've got the column shifter in our 21 F150.
Between that and the fact that the window switches on the bronco are in the center, I'm constantly mixing muscle memory between the vehicles.
Would be neat to see a Bronco with a column.
Also worth considering gearing. If you have no rear locker then you have the 3.73 which is more highway oriented. If you have the rear locker it is 4.46, so more low end torque.
Point is, given what I've felt with my 34" Toyos (less torque) I wouldn't recommend much larger on the 3.73 gearing...
Looks sweet! Could I get a closeup on your grill? I'm looking to do a similar painted surround with the darker colored inner, either painted black or left unpainted MIC black for durability.
