  1. Recovery gear deep dive: shackles, straps and kinetic ropes, what to buy!

Whole point is not to go buy the huge strap and the biggest kinetic rope you can. Over ten years ago everyone was going bonkers for 6"+ webbing recovery straps. Everyone had 2" straps then instantly ARB and Smittybuilt came out with super cool monster straps! There were several bad accidents out...
  2. Recovery gear deep dive: shackles, straps and kinetic ropes, what to buy!

Most soft shackles are 2-3 times the strength of what a winch can pull. 12,000lb winch might at best put 24,000lbs doubled down. When side loading the danger is in the tree side rigging not the vehicle connection as shackles and steel are predictable. This is a 3" 30,000lb strap look at what...

  4. Recovery gear deep dive: shackles, straps and kinetic ropes, what to buy!

Well lot of good info and some other statements. Matt at Matt's Offroad is an excellent example of bad ideas and poor recovery techniques. He is exposing himself and others constantly. When he claims no one would do the job, the correct claim is Matt was cheaper than the helicopter and wants to...
  5. Recovery gear deep dive: shackles, straps and kinetic ropes, what to buy!

Your just making a whip, you want the weakest link to be in the middle but not a failure point. I wouldn't worry about ruining gear, you will end up sacrificing something down the line to learning/desperation. Equipment also ages out and is the main factor for failures. My winch line is 2 years...
  6. The ARB 4x4 Integrated Winch is now available for your Bronco build!

Yah but you can get a Taiwan made Come Up winch for a few hundred more. I don't want stupid features, I want a robust and simple tool that lasts.
  7. The ARB 4x4 Integrated Winch is now available for your Bronco build!

Interesting gear ratio, lot of money for a Chinese winch...

  17. Any floor mats you like better than WeatherTech?

I will never buy Husky or Weathertech again, both curled in the heat after 2 years. I am still running he factory floor mats in the bronco with no issues. My @Mabett rear seat mats have lasted 3 years and only needed a little 3m double sided tape to keep kicking.
  18. 4WD Module replaced twice by dealer, still have fault codes, looking for guidance

Sounds exactly like the module failing or a connection issue to the module. Symptoms match when I locked up my AWD module trying to program it.
  19. Ride Shocks - a long-term review. (video linked at end)

After baja road trip with @popo_patty his setup absolutely kills it when you push it. Never felt out of place and extremely predictable. The rear never felt like it was trying to pass the front which I get with my 4wp/procomps coilovers and other rigs I have been in. Also no fade after 25 miles...
