Manual is an 8 hour clutch job, cable shift and has grinding issues. At this point you have to be an absolute manual freak to jump on board that sinking ship. At this point I would buy the 2.7 auto in a 2 door if you want performance or a 2.3 auto if you want a forever vehicle.

Make sure to get the rear locker, as it will have more gearing which helps MPGs as it keeps the motor out of boost.

I stuck rock slides on the wife's 2 door jl and everyone has hated them. Rock slide has zero customer service when you tell them the vertical drop bars are in the way of the step. They are flimsy compared to early version and not the same quality. Hard pass... If I had to do it over I would do...

Pretty sure this is going to be based of the grand Cherokee/Durango platform in order to make the target production date. The platform already has ifs, v8 and srt trim without any engineering. Love my JL, but it rattles and squeaks worse than a $9,999 Hyundai.
