I agree and disagree
I agree because if we can’t get a V8 then we better get damn good MPG. If my H2 can get 13MPG with full time 4wd 37s and old 4 speed and 7,000lb running weight then the Bronco had better blow it out of the water with an engine less than half its size, smaller tires, 6 more...
Germany relied on coal to power it through this abnormally cold winter and have reaffirmed it’s place. - I’m not sure if they plan to keep them on permanent standby when situations like that happen or continue as a baseline
It seems shortsighted to get rid of the most reliable form of energy...
Where’s the political BS, your post is the first I’ve seen mention politics. I’m taking a neutral stance.
Coal is the future.
Solar takes thousands of acres to get small amounts of energy - thousands of acres is highly inefficient and is in itself pollution. Wind isn’t cost effective and like...
Most AWD systems allow power movement front to rear but also allow the user to lock the center differential to turn the vehicle from AWD to 4WD.
AWD is designed to be driven on dry pavement as it allows slip, but once you lock the center it needs to stay off the pavement to prevent binding...
We will see but along with getting a solid rear axle I would strongly hope to see the approach, departure, and breakover angles greatly improved without the plastic fantastic bumpers taking up a couple feet of prime space. Then on top of that the wheel wells need to be pushed out to support at...
Maybe I missed who your responding to but you will screw up a Bronco running in 4H on dry pavement. AWD and 4WD are not the same thing.
4x4 has the center differential locked at 50:50 regardless if the axles are open or locked. You can’t drive on pavement with 50:50 power locked as everything...
I’m 90% sure you can’t fix the expedition, it’s about as far removed from off-road capable as they get. They market the expedition to soccer moms and would be better off with a clean sheet design based on the F150 frame. I’d like to see prices and specs in line with the F-series.
Coal is one of the cleanest forms of energy in the United States, scrubbers at every single plant remove 99.999% of particulates and by-products are a hot commodity. We need more coal plants, the last new coal plant in the US was built in 2018.
We don’t live in China.
And you shouldn’t be bothered by that, not sure why they (not you) are still demonizing coal when it’s currently one of the cleanest energy sources in America. A dual fuel gas turbine running on diesel spouts out many times the dirty stuff and no one seems to care.
Im sure the environmentalists...
A full-size pickup won’t have the breakover angles needed for off-roading, it would be too long. An expedition is IRS and would be about as capable as a Honda Civic. Further all the full-size pickups are kinda crap as far as fitting 35s/37s, which require laughable amounts of lift that shouldn’t...
Frankly I find the upcoming Bronco adequate falling on the small size, it would be one of the smallest vehicles I’ve ever purchased. Also I’m not sure why a full-size would have to be two door only?
If the V8 4x4 4door Silverado I had could return 24-26 HWY on a consistent basis then I have no...
Ehh, I’ll keep my H2. V8, 37s/38s at stock height, and standard locker will get me a long ways without the $80k price tag of an electric toy. Bonus I’ve forwarded brackish water that came all the way over the 37s - would be fearful of that on an electric.
Not my point, my point is that the same negative attitude was given to the Bronco coming back but here we are.
Some manufacturer offers a full-size and they wouldn’t even have competition to contend with.
There’s zero replacement options for those that bought these full-size SUVs, or any full-size SUV.
Again we are on the Bronco 6G forum, the same reasons were given for 20 years on why the Bronco was not viable for a come back yet here we are with high Interest.
I simply feel it’s impossible...
Not really, the market supported the Travelall, K5, Bronco, and RamCharger for 25 years, and then the Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition, Excursion (in almost as good form) for another 10 years after that.
I find it hard to believe if one manufacturer brought back an entrant to the market there...
I disagree, I feel manufacturers are ignoring ride quality which is another complaint of mine. Compare an 4th Gen Xreas 4Runner or a Lincoln town car suspension to anything today and you will see what I mean. It seems everything produced today has to have a sports car like ride quality even when...
The suburban and sequoia at this point are pointless, they have been turned into yuppie mobiles. The biggest thing the market lacks is an actual full-size SUV with off-road capability which the IRS suburban and sequoia lack.
My (old) full-size SUV has a payload rating of 2,200 lbs which can...
