  1. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

It’s not that complicated — if you order from a dealer that takes reservations out of proportion to their size and you’re not in the first 50% - chances are good you won’t receive a 2021 Bronco - even though you reserved earlier than individuals that take delivery of a 2021 from a dealer that...
  2. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

If your reservation is in the first 50% of reservations a dealer received prior to Sept 18 you are correct. If it isn’t - then you may not receive your early reservation in 2021 - depending on how the back half of the allocation calculation works for your dealer. Which has everything to do...
  3. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

You do not understand the allocation memo. Read it, then read the posts that discuss it. This doesn’t have to do with stock vs reservation. But that is also a big but separate issue that will play out with early reservation holders that don’t get a 2021 but are pushed into 2022.
  4. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

You are so right. Even after having it spelled out in black and white in this thread, numerous times, an astounding number of people just can’t understand how this works. It’s really not that hard. The posts will come in a torrential downpour when people start getting notified by their...
  5. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

That doesn’t make what he posted regarding who is getting Broncos first correct - it assuredly is not correct. Levine’s tweet was the same day this thread was posted and has been posted/discussed in this thread. This is the tweet as first posted in #154 on this thread.
  6. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

My reasons are in the reply (#243 in addition to many others) to your post - what I described is how it works - it’s the allocation method. Have you read the dealer allocation memo?
  7. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

This is almost assuredly not correct. If you have a reservation at a small dealer with a high volume of reservations, 50% of those reservationists will for sure be in the group where prod is in rough reservation order, plus a relatively small # that get in through the back half of the formula...
  8. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

Ford could have done a whole lot of things to make this roll-out process better - but it’s principally encapsulated by two words Planning and up-front Communication. None of their issues/hiccups were particularly hard to anticipate. Their current refusal to clearly communicate to consumers the...
  9. Ford - Take the Dash USB Ports Out of Lux

You may be correct but probably not. Ford builds these packages the way they do to maximize returns - not for any other reason. They presumably know more about consumer behavior (and profitability of take rates of individual options vs forced up-sold packages), than we do. I agree their...
  10. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

To whoever holds them — if they want a Bronco. I don’t think there is any effective way to transfer a reservation.
  11. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

I wasn’t willing to say they had definitely changed, but the more I think through it, the more I believe they intend to produce stock in 2022 ahead of reservations. They have to do that for the new allocation plan to work as designed. Of course 2022 is going to have an allocation formula and...
  12. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

Ford removed that guarantee from their FAQ. Then tweeted (gotta love a good tweet) a guarantee but a different one - see original post, post 154 and the recent discussion above this post.
  13. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

Yea, it’s in the first post - but see also post 154 because Ford tweeted “new” language later the same day as the original post. So many posts in this thread are about stuff not related to the actual changes —production and shipping efficiencies, “this shouldn’t be a thread”, I’m in it to...
  14. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

Unfortunately I don’t think anyone can actually help with a question like that. I think you have to wait until Ford commicates the allocations to the dealers, then ask your dealer where you are in their reservation order and their estimate of when you will receive - and then hope you are talking...
  15. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

I agree, Nobody can be sure of anything Ford says. They removed the sentence saying All reservations will be fulfilled before dealer stock from the FAQ (see the deletion in the first post). Levine helpfully replaced that removed sentence with 2021 model year reservations before dealer stock on...
  16. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

On almost every page of this thread someone brings up production efficiency. On the page where I posted the reading comprehension comment, is was brought up twice (one of which was you). Production/shipping efficiencies have nothing to do with this discussion - as has been repeatedly pointed...
  17. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

By definition no small dealer has a favorable back half of the calculation. Which shouldn’t be a problem for dealers that are selling Broncos commensurate with their size/normal volume. It only becomes an issue when the dealer is selling a high volume of Broncos.
  18. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

If you don’t see how that formula completely screws small dealers with a large number of orders (and many of their customers) because you don’t have the exact numbers to plug into the equation (which will never be available to consumers) then you don’t understand how the formula works. And even...
  19. Ford Changes How Broncos are Allocated - But Doesn’t Want You to Know

Currently, according to the dealers here, Ford rules prevent a dealer (large or small) from doing anything like that. My confidence in Ford being at a low ebb, we will see how that works out.
