Going along with the idea of preparedness...
Recovery items used:
Winches
Kinetic ropes (20 and 30 ft)
Snatch straps
Soft shackles galore
Shovels
Hammers and pry bars
Traction boards would have helped a couple times, but no one had them this trip. And my winch... was sitting on the floor in...
Ok, my honest opinion, the JLUR-XR did slightly better, but only barely. We had such a range of experience with drivers that it can be difficult to tell. Also, that is stock for stock, I would say that the couple of Broncos that were on 37s were an equal match for the JLUR XR, which comes...
It was a great group of people too! Everyone put in an amazing amount of with tu get the job done. Truly something to look back on and be proud of what we accomplished!
On Saturday, Oct 1, the Tucson Broncos offroad club decided to tackle Charouleau Gap, just north of Tucson AZ. My wife and I decided to take both our Bronco Badlands Sasquatch, and the JLUR-XR. Little did we know the adventure that awaited us....
The trip started as expected. We came across...
For me, a lot of those smaller complaints like the grab handles are just secondary to what I actually bought mine and use it for, which is the off road capability. There's nit picky things like that with the Wrangler as well (also an owner here). IMO, what you brought up about spaciousness is...
I would go as far as saying it would go further, until Jeep came out with the XR package. If The Bronco is nowhere near as capable as the Jeep, then why are they being forced to answer back on everything Ford does with the Bronco? Sasquatch package? Crap, lets make a 35" tire package too...
As far as the creature comforts (cup holders, sturdiness of grab handles, A/C in the rear) sure I can agree with them on many of those points.
From a rock crawling standpoint, I've been saying from the beginning, having taken the Bronco on trails rated 7, it can EASILY keep up with a Jeep to...
What does it cost you to keep the order? Why not just keep it, but live your life like you don't have it. Then when you get the surprise call from the dealer that it's here, you can make the decision at that time if you want or are able to buy.
And if you start to tip forward, lay off the breaks... most people who tip forward its because they panic, hit the brakes, dig the front tires in, and over they go. Let it roll!!!
My wife ended up becoming a rep for our local Bronco club, and she uses Hot Wheels and Matchbox Broncos to buck others. Along with a card for the club. Gets the word out about the club pretty good actually.
I frequent the JL forums as well, and usually jump in when they ask similar questions the other direction. I have a JLUR-XR on order right now, expected to arrive any day. The Bronco is the wife's vehicle, one that she can drive comfortably to school and soccer practice, but still keep up with...
Also getting over 19mpg here.
As for the infotainment, I use Android Auto, and could not be happier having my OnX Offroad maps pop up on that big screen. Granted it doesn't use the whole screen for Android Auto, but its way better than just my phone.
Just joined the forums and saw this thread. I was there! My profile pic is from when I took the different line than everyone else on 3feathers (the 4 door cyber orange w/ a fender delete). That was an awesome day!
