@MJBbase22 265/70/17 gets me through pretty gnarly stuff well enough, and depending on the tire, can be aired down to 15 psi and run all day long with no problems (these are Dick Cepek/Micky Thompson M/T Hybrids). 33" is nice (285/70/17), but heavier - you'll feel it. I haven't detected a...
I have Shrockworks sliders on my 2019 Ranger - they're excellent and have held up well after about three years, structurally and powder-coat-wise. I installed them myself (with the help of a floor jack), and it was a simple process; the "stick nuts" were part of the kit.
The Bronco ones here...
I'm still waiting for my Bronco ( a long wait at that) - will you guys accommodate a 2019 Ranger? Same platform!!
Hungry Valley SVRA a few summers ago:
@thattrue32 Very cool! I'm sorry that you've had to wait for so long - I hope that I get mine in 2022, though I have no idea if that's even remotely realistic.
What city are you in?
@omg_bbq Oh nice! I'd be glad to see the EG in person - it seems to really shine in direct sunlight. I'll let you know if I'm headed up that way in the coming weeks; thanks for the offer.
Just ordered my EG 4DR, Badlands Sasquatch - it'll be a year before I get it, but it's never too early to join up, I suppose.
Where do you all wheel? I'm in Santa Cruz, so Hollister Hills and Old Coast Rd. are my usual spots. I currently drive a 2019 Ranger XLT FX4.
I ordered the following (same as OP) on 2/24:
Eruption Green 4D
2.7L V6
Badlands
Sasquatch
MIC top
Tow package
Lux package
Priority 10
I was told by my small-town dealer (CA) that the wait is at least a year. Ah well, at least I have a nice Ranger FX4 to run trails till then :)
The plan is...
I use an ARB compressor. The wiring harness is installed in the engine compartment, and I plug the compressor into it when it's time to air back up. I have the smaller ARB CKMA12, which takes close to 2 minutes to air up a 32" A/T tire to 30 psi, the recommended pressure for my '19 Ranger. To go...
Leaf springs help.
By the way, the Ranger's quite capable offraod, if that's one reason you're looking at a Bronco... and rumor has it that an Ecoboost V-6 is on its way.
Class III hitches will be available soon at e-trailer, and if one could determine the FJ's spring rate in the back, as well as shock specs, I'd think that the Bronco could handle 5K lbs...
Also, consider that Old Man Emu typically designs a full suspension system for popular off-roaders, for...
I have a '19 Ranger with an upgraded Ford Fox 2"-lift suspension, 32" hybrid A/T-M/T tires. Prior to the suspension upgrade, the FX4 suspension was too soft and squishy, like a Lincoln (!), but one could mall-crawl all-day long. Post upgrade, the suspension firmed up, and the new tires are a bit...
I read in the specs somewhere that there's an trailer anti-sway feature, like the Ranger; also, I think that there's a trailer-mode button in the middle of the G.O.A.T. dial; if this does what it does in the Ranger (adjusts shifting pattern/downhill engine-braking), I'd be happy, though a...
I guess that it's still too early in the process for Ford to get into the real nitty-gritty of things, but has anyone noticed if the Bronco's front/rear diff. locks can be activated on-the-fly? I currently own a 2019 Ranger with a rear diff. locker, and have to stop/shift to neutral before the...
