You'll need 8 longer bolts, yes. But only put washers on the bottom bolts, behind the SS3 mounting bracket, not in front. I used 3 washers on each bottom bolt for the correct aiming.
You definitely have to cut into your bumper for a proper install. You want the mounting bracket to sit flush against the back of the bumper, not hanging off like Extreme Terrain's video. Don't forget to also grab some washers so you can aim the SS3's down enough to not blind incoming traffic...
Yeah, I'm just not betting on selling my lights being a guarantee. At this point, why would someone buy a used set of sig headlights on Ebay when the aftermarket would look the same, be cheaper, and have higher output?
So just everyone is aware, Morimoto has a headlight trade-in program. After you receive your new headlights, you can trade your stock headlights in. Just in case anyone else doesn't want to keep their stock lights after swapping them out and get some money back. Looks like both base and...
More than likely just out of stock. I'd keep an eye on them - I had to keep an eye out for about a week before seeing them in stock and placing my order.
UPDATE:
First things first - Diode Dynamics responded to my email essentially saying the same thing as they said here; telling me I can't read (true facts, I totally missed the product description mentioning some trimming is required to make the pods fit), and to add some washers on the bottom...
Thanks for the input! How did you get them to aim low enough? The bumper isn't in the way for me, the mounting bracket hits against the fins on the back of the pod and can't go any further.
Well, my understanding is that the SS3 Pro's have stronger light intensity than the Elite Series, but I don't know for sure. These would be fine though if I could aim them lower. Maybe the Elite Series will be the solution.. just waiting to hear DD's input.
I'm hesitant to start cutting into the fins on the back, the 8 year warranty was a pretty big selling point for me and I'd hate to void it just so I can use them.
This is their specific kit for the Bronco, so I assume if they have a round mounting bracket that fits, they would've used that instead: https://www.diodedynamics.com/ss3-led-fog-light-kit-for-2021-2023-ford-bronco-w-standard-bumper.html
Yeah, I thought about using some washers, but there isn't...
Hey all,
So I decided to take advantage of DD's black Friday savings and get a set of the SS3 fog light kit - Pro strength, yellow color.
Kit arrived yesterday so I got started on the install. Removing the stock fogs is easy enough - reach behind the bumper, unbolt the 4 bolts holding the...
Sorry to hear about that, hopefully they get the replacement to you soon. I ordered these on Sep. 9th, so nearly a two month wait from order to delivery.
I just used the harness it came with - used the provided fuse tap in the ignition ACC fuse spot, and negative to the negative battery terminal.
