Did you get this resolved? Same issue here. Stopped working. Thought it was because I had removed doors. Vitiated dealer. No codes, no ideas. Doors back on. Still greyed out / inoperable.
Thatās good news - sort of. Perhaps itās intermittent based on confused codes from the driverās door. Iāll find out when I put āem back on in a couple of days maybe. Thank you for replying.
Update: a day after putting the doors back on, the start stop started working again. It wasnāt immediateā¦it just randomly started functionally normally after a half dozen short trips and some miles. Others here have reported the same issue. Odd.
The automatic start stop feature on my 7MT...
OK, Iāll bite. How does using the lockers interfere with traction control?
I assume the trac control works by sensing wheel spin under acceleration and applies brake to the slipping wheel while limiting throttle⦠I also guess itās on the rear axle only but didnāt look it up.
Please if you...
I have a 2 door manual Badlands Sasquatch. I love it both on and off road. Itās super easy to use off road. In low range you can start off in crawl, 1, or 2 depending on the terrain and speed you want, and it just ambles along without really any throttle or clutching. It crawls up steep...
Iām sure theyād love to check it out as a real world practical analyze and learn project. Let us know what they say!
Iād also raise holy hell with Ford over the safety risk. Your situation is much different that the average trail failure.
Great feature! A design that snaps tie rods by turning the steering wheel? If only they had a smaller natural turning circle augmented by some sort of ādriveway turn assistā.
This is concerning. Itās only a matter of time before one breaks at speed on the highway and someone gets hurt. I too suspect a quality issue with the rod itself. They are too brittle. They should bend a fair amount before snapping - and breakage should only occur once bending limits have...
Yeah I agree that better tie rods are the ābestā answer. Just too spendy for my interest.
And agree, not worried about the CV breaking. Shop opinion is using the lockers at full droop tends to push thr tie rods to breaking limit, more than otherwise.
Iād like to cost-effectively reduce or eliminate the possibility of tie-rod breakage on my 22 2 door Badlands Man-Squatch.
Original plan was Peak Suspension tie rod sleeves, but my local trusted 4x4 shop recommends strongly against. They say this is a very dumb idea that increases the chance...
IMHO, you really donāt want or need 6āth unless your doing over 60. In my 2 door Bad Man Squatch I typically run in 5āth up to about 65, maybe a tad lower if the road is pancake flat. Not towing just driving.
Ford suggests 2 to 3K rpm is the efficiency sweet spot, your preference may vary of...
Iām wondering why youād do this.
Pluses
- You like the look, I presume.
Minuses
- Added width is a negative on many trails. I just spent a weekend trying to squeeze my Bronco down wooded rocky trails behind a bunch of jeeps. In no case was width my friend or theirs. On many trails I had...
