Odd question but can someone measure or tell me the distance from the top of the hitch to the bottom of the bumper? I think my hitch got bent on my last 1200-mile road trip while utilizing the CURT cargo carrier that Ford has. I just want to make sure only the cargo carrier was bent and not the...
It was supposed to be part of the trip heading to Black Gap but its all closed. Big Bend had massive flooding so they closed alot of trails. There was actually more closures a week ago when I went.
Per their website:
Some Unpaved Roads CLOSED
Alert 1, Severity closure, Some Unpaved Roads...
I definitely had more clearance than he did and felt more at ease with the Bronco since it was my third time out. It was his first time off roading so he took it easy and tried to avoid some of the tougher obstacles since it was his first time. He would tell me that the Bronco was taking all the...
I just got back from my second camping trip of the year and it was fantastic. First go at off roading with the Bronco was taking it through New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado earlier this year and trying it out with Schnebly Hill Rd - Youtube . Posted a recap of that earlier this year.
This time...
I actually ordered directly from Diode as well when I bought my ditch lights. The harness they sent really isnt good. Its a pain because of the extra wire that needs to be run to the battery with a relay box. I honestly returned the additional harness I bought from Diode because they had one...
I get the argument and I should have clarified. I could have gotten the hard top for “just” an extra 695 from the factory. Now I made the decision not to. If you want to use your rationale let’s say using the bestop as an example it’s 2k + an extra 695 is about 2700. Meaning 6k for a hardtop is...
TFL always does a good job breaking down vehicles. Check out their video on it. Seems like a Jeep Wrangler with IFS and a non removable roof. Probably giving up some off road capability but how much who knows. Looks to be the same size as the Wrangler and Bronco running on 33's.
I'm not going to lie if this thing gets 400 miles of range with 5k towing it might be enough for me to trade in my Bronco. As long as I don't give up too much in off road capability. Ford needs to step up their game and hurry up with an EV Bronco with a better interior.
Friend of mine just...
Since we are having a friendly debate about it ill just say this.
I dont disagree the mining process is not the most climate friendly, but the misconception that they are bad is incorrect. The recycling process for Tesla batteries is at 92% per their website. Now this will hopefully get better...
i love taking the roof off but man that highway noise as 80-85 is unbearable. We took it on a 3000 mile road trip for some off roading and camping. My wife and I had to always use noise canceling headphones the entire trip.
Unless you’ve driven one you can’t realize how much better the driving experience is for daily driver. Every time I drove an ev and went back to ice it was like going back in time 50 years.
People said the model T was a joke and gas stations were not in abundance were those same people still...
I put in a reservation for a Chevy Blazer EV that I will hopefully get next year for my wife. I’m just keeping the bronco as a toy at this point. I also can’t deal with the abysmal mpg or horrific highway noise with the soft top. Need something more practical. I’ll probably also be purchasing a...
I’m looking to trade my soft top for a hardtop if anyone is interested. I also added the IAG soft top assist to make it easier to put up and down. I’ll throw some cash on top. I’m located in San Antonio but willing to drive.

I have read up on some of the other threads about GMRS radio's installed. I took a little bit of a short cut in how I installed it to see how it worked but honestly I think its fine. For those that are curious instead of running the antenna wire through the fire wall and behind the radio, I just...
