  1. Let’s solve the GVWR and payload issue once and for all

An artificial limitation simply to keep in the same arbitrary classification as a competitor isn’t a capability, and that’s what the whole problem here is. We don’t know what the broncos actually capable of for things like this because simply testing its actual capability would put it in a...
  2. Let’s solve the GVWR and payload issue once and for all

I don’t think all of them will have the same gvwr. If right at 6k gvwr, the lightest 4 door would then have 1500lbs payload, and payload number Ford previously gave was 1370 for the 4 dr. So that puts a gvwr on the lightest 4 dr curb weight at 5870. And if they all have 5870 gvwr then that means...
  3. Tow capacity will keep me from switching...

If it was truly purpose built it likely wouldn’t be road legal. Yes it sways to the off-road capability, but it’s still built as a road legal, pavement driven vehicle. Similar to how a mustang still has air conditioning, a radio, passenger seats, and no roll cage with harnesses, it’s “purpose...
  4. Jeep 392 cost leaked

I agree an internet poll is a hugely limited group for anything, but that 51 yr old average age is also misleading at first glance(which that article does mention). The article says the average buyer of any new car/truck is 53. Which makes sense given that basically anyone under 18 isn’t buying...
  5. RUSSIAN off roader coming to market!

Both. Get on the bandwagon of complaints and dropped reservations and get off the bandwagon of waiting for bronco and misinformation/changes. Any direction you go is a bandwagon nowadays.
  6. RUSSIAN off roader coming to market!

I accidentally read that as “many defecations from bronco reservations holders.” Guess it still works though.
  7. What's Bronco missing that "high tech / lux SUVs" have?

I would beg to differ on that, but sure probably not for everybody. And depends what ya mean by “cool” night(plenty people I know would consider 65 degrees as a cool night). I’ve regularly driven convertibles with the top down as low as 40 degrees out(once or twice even below freezing), both...
  8. Why is the Modular Body Color-Painted Hard Top + Black Soft Top cheaper than the Modular Hard Top in Shadow Black?

If ya read the original post he didn’t ask about duo vs duo, he asked why the shadow black mod top(not dual) was $100 more than the body painted mod top(that is dual). Basically, why is a single top more expensive than 2. Hence my response to yours saying how the single top doesn’t list the roof...
  9. Why is the Modular Body Color-Painted Hard Top + Black Soft Top cheaper than the Modular Hard Top in Shadow Black?

The roof rails are only listed on the dual top with shadow black, not on the shadow black by itself, and that’s $700 more than the body color dual top. And the body colored dual top is still the modular top. It doesn’t say what’s included with it in the description on build and price at all, but...
  10. Remote Start on Manual

It actually wouldn’t take that much to make this viable. Really all that’s needed is a neutral light/sensor and clutch sensor, similar to what every motorcycle already has to verify it’s either in neutral or clutch is pulled so won’t start in any gear unless the clutch is pulled(most new manual...
  11. Build & Price Updated: Auto No Longer Free For Mid-Level Trim + Other Changes

Yea thats why I said ford shoulda had it sorted out long ago. But just saying that the v6 shows auto standard doesn’t mean it won’t be a separate cost included as well. Shoulda showed the additional cost from the start especially with build and price delayed to begin with.
  12. Build & Price Updated: Auto No Longer Free For Mid-Level Trim + Other Changes

Just saying “standard” doesn’t always mean “free.” The V6 has no manual transmission option, so yea the auto will be standard since that’s the only choice, doesn’t mean you won’t get charged for it. Seen the same thing plenty in trucks before when going from gas to Diesel engine, usually has a...
  13. 2.7l and 10 speed reliabilty, turbos shot at 40k

Isn’t the industry average now around 15k/yr for any vehicle? So 40k in 2 years isn’t really that much more than average, that’s not excessive(and “average” implies plenty of vehicles do more than that). And trucks tend to have higher miles driven anyways. It’s not uncommon to see used trucks...
  14. White top on yellow body!

I don’t much like yellow to begin with, much less with a white top. Only color I would even consider with a white top is if they did grabber blue on the bronco. Seen this setup blue Jeep with white top and it’s about the only white top deal I like. But I also have a motorcycle that’s basically...
  15. What sort of weird things are you cross shopping the bronco with?

Durango SRT Yukon Denali Gladiator Those are my current considerations. Broncos likely out for me for the moment and it’ll be one of these options, with a future bronco mall crawler down the road. Durango SRT currently has top spot for me, only problem there is if I get the Yukon or Durango...
  16. Hypothetical Poll 2.7L w/ Manual

One glaring difference with the trims though is that in almost any other vehicle the trim is an engine change that you can’t get on a different trim, so point I was trying to make is the bigger engines can easily have higher take rates of manuals. It’s the engine not the trim level. The...
  17. Hypothetical Poll 2.7L w/ Manual

It can also be extremely hard to even find a car with manual on a lot even if it’s offered since most dealers barely order manuals, some don’t order any manuals. Which also has an effect on take rate since most people aren’t going to order and wait for a vehicle(before 2020 at least...)
  18. Hypothetical Poll 2.7L w/ Manual

When you think overall yea, but few things that could easily make these results. For one thing, this is a bronco forum, meaning more likely to be enthusiasts not just the average joe that’s buying a bronco, and manual take rate is typically higher among enthusiasts. Also, take rate can actually...
  19. The biggest design oversight...

Just to throw it out there, no reason vent windows wouldn’t work on new bronco. Plenty of frameless window vehicles had vent windows in the past, including convertibles(so removable top and frameless). Really doubt it’ll ever happen, but still no reason it couldn’t.
