Yep, they occasionally fly over through the pass at other times. Usually 2, one behind the 1st one. By the time you hear the first one and grab your phone to get a pic or video they are gone like a turkey to the corn.
When in Texas it averages a little over 300. When in high altitude like Colorado it can be well over 400. Also get better MPG in our Rubicon in Colorado. Likely the less dense air is my guess. But then again the gas in Co is way more than in TX. :)
Braptor.
Just a few. Stony Pass, Ophir, Corkscrew, Clear Lake, Camp Bird ( I forget the end point on that one). Made a wrong turn on Stony Pass and got some limb scraping but no damage. (would have scraped a regular Bronco as well). Wanted to do Imogene cause I like that trail but the wife nixed it...
Usually do a couple of trips to the Ouray area of Colorado. Have done most of the trails in our Rubi and this was the first year to take our Braptor. The wider Braptor made it a little scarier but no issues. Got to test our the trail turn assist feature. That worked great but is noisy...
I have the LOD (at least a similar one) on our Rubicon. Love it. The only issue I have is that the accessory mount for a rotopax suffered metal fatigue and I removed it.
When I had my 67 IH Scout I did a lot of the work on it myself but a lot of shops wouldn't/couldn't work on it because it did not have a computer. The mechanics couldn't diagnose anything without the aid of a computer. So sad. Luckily I did find a local shop that could do work on old school...
Don't forget a major tire size change will effect your speedo, shift points, etc. On our Jeep it was easy to adjust using an app. The older I get the harder it is to lift those big tires too.
I noticed it when I my wife was out shopping and wanted to see where she was. In the old version it would show it still at home and ou had to vertical swipe a few times for it to refresh. This version doesn't seem to allow the vertical swipe but did have it accurately located. So that may be...
When we had an FJ Cruiser they used to have the FJ Summit get together every summer in Ouray. Organized by a group of fellow drivers. Cost as I recall was about $300 per driver. I think it was for 3 days. They provided dinner, brought in subject matter folks to teach things like off roading...
I had a 80's Bronco and never rotated the spare. One morning I went out and the top of my spare had exploded from UV cracking. So either rotate it or cover is my suggestion.
Looks great I'll probably stick with 37's. I don't think I could even pick up a 39 to put it back on the spare tire carrier. I can't tell, did you remove the lights above the spare? I took mine off and put a light ring behind the spare to at least be semi legal and add some visibility out...
I also have one on my Rubicon. You need to emphasize that it is linked to the rear door so that means you don't have to open it first to open the rear door. Maybe pics for that.
Watched him race at Green Valley Raceway, TX so many years ago. It was a drag strip that at the end had a loop back around to the start line. So it was a cool type of race where everyone went super fast down the strip and then tried to make the turns going back around.
In 1967, as part of...
Just to throw this into the mix. I have a Braptor and get the same symptoms (occasionally) in sport mode. I tend to use sport mode less for that reason. Don't really need sport mode to be able to hit it and get it.
I try not to even look at other Bronco's when driving now because I don't want to offend the owner. Much less wave at them or touch their baby. What a great generation (sarcasm).
I got the safelite non-oem last time on our Jeep. Very disappointed with how it looks. Seems like the tint is less and missing the rest of the stuff that comes with the OEM. Not sure if that helps for the Bronco question. We also just got a crack a week or so ago in our Bronco. Typically we...
