And the next time a hurricane hits a refinery or a foreign despot invades a neighboring country, you (and I) will be walking. There is a lot to be said for having one gas/diesel vehicle and one EV in a multiple-vehicle household, just to be better-prepared for future crises. At the family farm...
Heck, it took me 45 mins to fill up my Bronco at a Shell two weeks ago. Only one person in front of me, but the credit card readers were super slow and then the pumps were dispensing at about a quart per minute. Not to mention all the natural disasters and geopolitical turbulence that have...
You're missing the point of the thread. OP wants to release clutch when the engine is already at the correct RPM for that speed/gear, to avoid lurching+clutch wear. But apparently rev hang is making that process take a long time.
Have you tried letting the boost drop to zero before shifting? Since rev hang is programmed for emissions reasons, I always suspected that less boost=less rev hang.
I have a 7MT and don't notice any more rev hang than any other modern turbo DI vehicle with a manual (the Bronco is my 3rd in a...
Idle is a surprisingly harsh condition for direct injected gas engines, especially ones like the 2.3L that lack port injection. That's when all the carbon buildup on valves occurs. I'd rather replace a starter every 100k miles or whatever than deal with all the issues/cost that come with carbon...
Afraid of the expense of a technician swapping out a <$1 part in three seconds during regular scheduled maintenance? Heck, even the dealership salespeople could 'perform' this recall in the time it takes them to hand out a business card. So I'm not sure I buy that explanation.
After all, this...
Is no one offering plain ol' black rubber mud flaps that fit Broncos with the OEM sliders? I can't abide these nylon bits hanging low that will probably get shattered by the first branch that snags it.
I thought this problem was solved like 75 years ago, but it seems like everyone is trying to...
Consider yourself lucky if a dealership remembers to replace the crush washer after an oil change. If you are counting on them to fix squeaks/rattles, you might as well expect them to cure cancer.
The combination of the automatic transfer case with the manual transmission was a big reason I wanted a (Badlands) Bronco to begin with. I was testing how the auto transfer case behaved in 'Normal' vs. 'Slippery' GOAT modes (in 4Auto on wet pavement), and it seems like:
-Both 'Normal' and...
I thought that was a very strange omission on my '22 Lux, but I didn't know it was a parts shortage thing. Oh well, I set it once to 72 then never touched it again.
Did it have a 'skewp' on the hood and shiny wheels? Then it was a 'TRD Sport'. In any case, all the turd gen Tacos drive about the same. I was set to buy a TRD Off Road with the manual transmission, but on the test drive I was astounded by how bad the powertrain/chassis were (the ergos of the...
Ford Engineers: "Alright, we have a large radiator with a high volume of coolant being pumped through the engine. Instead of using that cooling system to perform its sole function, let's spray fuel all over sh!t instead".
I mean, we've seen some face-palms from Ford engineers before, but if...
Color me skeptical. Gasoline engines are most efficient at low RPM, WOT. That is where friction and throttle/pumping losses are lowest. This is in stark contrast to diesel engines, which are most efficient at part-load conditions (no throttle=no throttle losses). And contrary to popular belief...
I haven't heard the base audio system, but just listening to SiriusXM w/ B&O, I think it sounds muddled and compressed in a way that I hadn't experienced since the first crappy MP3s first appeared in the late 90s. But that's probably just an indictment of SiriusXM's horrible compression...
$700+ for four rubber flaps? What do you think the profit margins are on those? 300%? 500%?
I'm sure someone will make a basic rubber flap set (with no logos!) that is compatible with the rock rails for <$100.
The Sasquatch package does not change the 4.7 gears on the 7mt Badlands, which is one reason why it has horrible value for $5k on that trim. That's alot of scratch for bigger tires+fenders, uglier wheels, and a tiny suspension lift. SAS is a good deal for lower trims, though.
But 35" tires...
What happened to your MPG when you switched from 33"->35" tires? It's hilarious that Ford's EPA stickers for the 7MT Badlands show BETTER MPG with the Sasquatch package than without it.
