My dealer does not charge extra to remove the skid plates. No charge with stock skid plates. No charge with Icon aftermarket skid plates. At my last service they broke the welded/captive nut for one of the skid plate bolts, and replaced the bracket holding this nut for free under warranty. I...
I don’t know if it’s air intake or direct to injectors. Would the latter not have value for combustion chamber deposits, apart from the valve backs not washed by the cleaner?
I’ve scheduled 30K maintenance for Monday on my stock 22 Badlands 2.3 MT. Basically just a syn oil change, air filter, and tire rotation. I’m considering the following as well.
- Front Diff Fluid, and T-case fluid, as recommended in the manual for off-road driving. Not mentioned by the...
New Fords?
- 79 F100, first vehicle bought new.
- 85 Tbird Turbo Coupe. Surprisingly great handling. Lots of fun.
- 88 Lincoln LSC, if that counts. HO V8, fast luxury touring for 2
- 92 Explorer. Meh. Room for kids.
- 94 Taurus SHO. High strung Yamaha 24V V6 fast for its day.
- 22 Bronco...

GOAT modes. They add little to value over use of the hero switches, especially with a manual trans. I think they address auto trans settings a bit so some might get that value. As for me I never use them.
For someone who wants to swap tops for summer and winter on a regular basis, what does the removal process look like?
For a 2 door does the top remove easily in one-piece for storage? What kind of ancillary hardware needs to be fussed with for regular swap with the hard top, or is this top...
Great pics and nice trails in the Swell. I hit some a year or so ago with my BIL in his 74. He dropped his clutch linkage axle deep in a deep wet arroyo, and I couldn’t pull him out with my 22. Thankfully we found a trail rescue outfit to save the day before a big storm rolled through...
I leave my key in the Bronco when on the trail. As I’m often in and out of the truck to review obstacles and help others many times, this avoids the double honk when I shut my door. And yeah, I grabbed a little plastic fob holder that sits between the cups in the cup holder. It’s cheap and it...
