That is great idea. I love the fold back to mess with the top idea. Keep us posted as this goes. There is only one other soft top rack on the board being made and it does not do what yours does, but it is full length. I like it a lot.
See if you can design the front mounting so that light bars that normally would use the stick mounting holes could still be used. And might help with wind noise.
Are used a large prybar that I got from a set and that did the same thing similarly so that’s an option. However none of this helps you when you do a five tire rotation with your full size spare, in which case I found some young Buck to do it for me.
if yours a hard top? I feel like the soft top sites more inside the car because of the roof mechanisms. But it is barely on top.
Thanks for the close ups....good discussions.
Also I could mount them on the inside of the brackets that would move them a little bit closer to window.
This is a four seater. The panels end about 1" over the top of the outside of the rear row of seats. I don't think it will be an issue. If when I my kids get in there it is a problem I will put padding on that edge.
Just installed mine. Youtube instructional video made it easy, other than running back and forth to watch, then do, then watch....etc. Very Happy!
PS Sorry about the mess in the back....
No
Nope it went right on. Be careful making sure you plug the right things into the wiring harness….I had to take mine to the dealer only to find out I plugged the license plate light into a parking sensor. 😳 🤦♂️
