Well, Capital Ford certainly made that easy. Test driving the 4dr manual Badlands this Friday at 11. Iāll be sure to play with different GOAT modes, see how/if it lugs when driving normally, see what the highway RPMs are like, etc. Iāll also check the crawler gear/4 low and some other stuff if I...
Iām thinking of scheduling a test drive there as well. Really want to test the manual before I make a final decision. Only thing is I live 2 hours east of Raleigh so a quick test drive becomes a full day endeavor
Since these things are slowly trickling out, interested to hear real world feedback on the 2.3/7spd combo. Looking forward to ordering a ManSquatch in 22ā but in the meantime owner reviews will hold me over! Likes, dislikes, clutch feel, highway and passing power, letās hear it
If you wheel in rocky areas, the underside of your Bronco will look like this too, spotter or not. Price of admission. Just touch up any scraped areas with some black enamel paint and donāt stress over it
@dirtstar2002 Please please please bring a set of quality quick disconnect swaybar links to market for all the non-Badlands folks! I know Iād personally drop down to a Black Diamond Sasquatch if I could get a set of quick disconnects in the future for my Bronco. Simpler & less points of failure...
Iād drive the hell out of that. Iāve got a Gecko Jeep Rubicon on order...should be here in August. Iām strongly eying Velocity Blue and Cyber Orange for my 22ā ManSquatch...but if Ford brought out this lime green Iād definitely do it
X2. Need moar reviews of the 7spd! I wonder if Ford is gonna change the gearing for the ManSquatch in 22ā. Jeep recently announced 4.88 as a 22ā option which will give them a 100:1 crawl ratio with their manual. Ford doesnāt like to be outdone...Iād like to see 4.88s paired with the ManSquatch...
Well the new Ford 7.3 V8 is a start. Pushrod, no cylinder deactivation, port fuel injection. If oneās looking for a longevity based powertrain thatās the one to pick.
Fair point. While I do appreciate modern tech/features on vehicles today I donāt like how that same tech basically turns them into a throwaway commodity past ~10 years. Close family friend still has a 2000 Ford Excursion V10 that I sold them a few years back. Runs like a top with basic...
Hybrid longevity remains a sticking point for me. I donāt think weāre gonna see old F150 Powerboostās on the road in 10-15 years. Theyāre going to have expensive battery replacements and Iām almost certain out of warranty electrical issues are going to be a sticking point for lots of early...
To run 40s properly...while keeping the IFS functional and retaining the benefits of the Bronco over a Jeep, start thinking along the lines of this build:
If youāre gonna go for a solid axle swap, just start with a Jeep. Known quantity, bolt in Dana 60s, etc
Letās see how 37s/38s fit & hold up on these before we start talking about 40s...if you actually plan on wheeling it youāre gonna be spending quite a pretty penny on axle and steering upgrades. Beefed up tie rods, ball joints, front CV axles, chromoly rear axle shafts, etc.
Dana 44s on the JL...
39ā KM3s are measuring out at 37.5-38ā under most 4dr Jeep Rubiconās Iāve seen them on. Most 37s run closer to 36ā under 4dr JLs and 37ā KM3s are closer to 35.5ā
It might not seem like it, but 2ā OD in tire size is a big deal in this case and the planned 3-4ā lifts for the Bronco. You will need...
