For those that installed the Ford electric brake controller yourself, can you test it to make sure it's working somewhat without a trailer?
Is there any Forscan programming required?
If the wire is undersized, you can have a fire. If the fuse is undersized for the load, it simply blows. Choose your own adventure.
You fuse (or circuit breaker) to protect the wiring. This is actual law in the aviation world. Vehicle safety should be just as important. At least you can pull...
You fuse protect for the wiring used, not the device being powered. A 12vdc 200W device should get a 30 amp fuse and the appropriate gauge wiring for 30 amp fuse depending on how many feet you run.
Calling someone incompetent and then misspelling it is extremely funny.
If it was a simple design, the aftermarket would have it available. I don't have time to design, fabricate and test.
I see nearly all hitches. including OEM, are not directly mounted to the frame rails. They are mounted to a smaller crossmember. Are there any aftermarket hitches that do attach to the primary frame rails?
Because the camper I am looking at has a ball height of 24". Anderson says hitch should be 1.5 above that. So 25.5" puts me into the SAS spare tire depending on how far the Anderson sticks out.
We probably don't know the answer but would the Raptor hitch mod allow higher tongue weights on non-Raptors? It seems logical with the much thicker construction.
Right now we are limited to 350 lbs tongue weight but the Raptor hitch is rated for 450 lbs tongue weight.
I am not trying to tow...
I did a search and didn't see many results. Is anyone here running an Andersen weight distribution hitch on a Bronco with sasquatch package? Does it clear the spare tire?
