This isn't a new thing. There are a few other threads on the forum about this exact issue. My bronco looks exactly the same as yours does in my app. Tried everything. I figure it's better to have a buggy app than a buggy Bronco.
My wife and I went Labor Day weekend last year. The guides are legit and the trails really show what the bronco can do, especially when we climbed the granite mountain!

OP - it all depends on which bumper you have. You have options.
Walt designed the bracket to essentially "pinch" the capable bumper so that there is no drilling needed and can be removed easily. You're correct that the additional brackets are included and the Bronco tool kit can be used on the selected hardware.
