Just drive downwind ; )
Went to Moab last weekend, it was so loud on the way down doing 75 to 80 into a 20+ headwind. My wife, who rarely complains about anything, said "too bad it is so loud". If you knew her you 'd know she just said "holy shit this thing is loud as fuck".
On the way back...
IMO going down would have been even scarier, but I have done virtually no offroading.
I took my wife back to the trail next day, the first obstacle wasn't far in, figured I give her a little example of what the bronco could do. She didn't like it and I almost chickened out. It was a lot...
I went on Friday -your picture looks way less intimidating then actually being there. I had looked at this thread before I went and thought - looks fun but nothing too challenging. I never expected that hill. I will say that everyone in my group just drove right up it and at least 3 of us...
I was playing around with my bronco and Subaru (2016 manual imprezza)in last weeks storm.
I thought the Subaru with snow tires was better than bronco 4a but worse than bronco 4h. Full snow coverage. Badlands tires.
Seriously, It makes me jump everytime. Happening more often now that it is winter. Hop in turn it on, grab the scraper, hop out, close the door and wtf.
Yesterday I was so proud of myself, left the door slightly open, then halfway down the driveway I realize I forgot my phone, hop out close...
I've been running the seat heater full bore since I hurt my back but when I get out my pants are soaked. I know I got a sweaty butt but with the MGV seats, heat, winter clothes I wondered if it looked like I peed my pants.
Anyone know how to turn off just the butt heater?
First trip up Little Cottonwood canyon. The crawl gear was great since traffic was moving so slow. You know what would have been better, an automatic transmission DOH!
I was a little worried, I've been using dedicated snow tire on my subaru for the last 15 or so years but the KO2's did...
This happened to me today in a heavy snow squal, pretty freaking annoying.
If I turned them completely off then back on they worked but what a pia turning them on and off every 2 minutes.
They seemed to stay running longer at a lower speed, but the snow was really too heavy to not run them on...
I don't notice the rev hang on my Bronco. I do know what you are talking about though as my subaru has it, and even after 5 years of driving it, it still bugs me...
Yes, my current snow tires on my subaru and tined concrete pavement is horrible.
The first time it happened I thought I must've lost half the lug nuts.
I stopped twice to check all the tires. The shimmy immediately stopped when the highway switched to asphalt.
Annoying, but at least I know...
Or reach out and push a button to turn it off...
This is my first car with it, I have the manual, so it is pretty predictable.
I thought it was going to bug me but it doesn't.
I have a hardtop with the liner - wind noise is pretty loud once you get past 65 or 70 or are in a strong cross wind.
I definitely have to turn the radio up but the wind noise doesn't bother me too much. Even so I may try to quiet it....
Got my first chip today. 1500 miles. Since I actually saw the rock before it hit I have to say I think it would have chipped any windshield. Did a do it yourself repair kit, hopefully it holds...
On the plus side I also cleaned off the dried/baked on bug guts left over from my road trip home...
It is pretty easy to drive, shifts are smooth. The ergonomics are perfect for me. The center arm rest is perfect, and keeps my hand from resting on the shifter (5-11, short legs, long torso, sit farther forward than most people).
Still getting used to it, at first I thought the engine braking...
