You're right, many of us have had the same debate! I'm cool with Black Diamond because I think 4A is nice to have (optional on BD and higher, I believe), I like the MGV, I like the steelies, I like the simple non-signature lighting, and I like the color blue (interior accents).
But, like you...
On the other hand......
Parking is SUPER EASY. Just drive towards the edge of the lot, drop the plow, hit the bank, parked. No brakes needed.
And you never have to worry about people cutting you off, pulling out in front of you, or opening their doors as you're driving by.
All of the above...
I know this was directed to someone else, but...
Yes. Yes I do. 100% yes. If the Bronco didn't offer a manual transmission I wouldn't be buying one, simple as that. I'm in my 50s, by the way.
From the article:
The previously tested two-door Bronco Badlands galloped to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds and ran the quarter mile in 15.8 seconds at 86.4 mph. The Black Diamond managed 0-60 in 7.9 seconds and trotted the quarter mile in 15.8 seconds at 85.8 mph. Those figures represent a 0.2-second...
Bronco Sport has been in development since 2001. :)
And then there's this (I'm sure I found this elsewhere on B6G, but can't remember where).
Long story short, when friends say they saw a Bronco but they actually saw a Bronco Sport I just show them the picture above, in the spirt of the...
Yeah, poor helpless little Ford Motor Company. Unable to figure out how to contact other vendors. Completely at the mercy of any third party who can't deliver. No contingency planning at all, even after well over a year. One wonders how they make any vehicles at all.
Not only that, but Ford...
Amen to *almost* all of the above.
The part I disagree with is the "don't have parts" part. Well over a year now and Ford can't figure out how to get "tow package" (to pick just one example) parts? Seriously? That excuse is losing its validity the longer this drags on. More likely scenario...
Two questions:
1. Is there a way to use Forscan to program the Bronco to engage Sport Mode but leave the transfer case in 2H (in Broncos with 4A available)? Alternatively, if I go to Sport (with 4A) and manually switch to 2H, does it otherwise stay in Sport and retain the other Sport...
Not so weird at all. I was looking for fun cars with manual transmissions. BRZ, Blackwing, and Bronco (among others) all fit that description. I'm getting two of the three. :)
Multiple cars on that list, at least half, fit that description--some with longer waits than the Bronco.
This feels like an ideal situation, to be honest. You have a Bronco already. And you'll get a top *later*, when hopefully they've figured out how to build them. Free replacement of what shouldn't be--but is turning out to be--a wear item.
Everyone is different. Some of us keep cars for a long time. If I keep the Bronco (my second new car in my life) as long as I have kept the first one I'll be nearly 80. So it's possible. Really depends on how well built the Bronco is. :)
