I am out and about this weekend, but the reverse lights come from the other connector C105 just next to the one you wired, pin or position 40. It is middle row on one end ( you can take a picture with you phone. The Connector has pin location on the back edge)
See pictures below for what I had.
It does look like they changed the connection. If you have a meter. I would check continuity between that wires and where it would attach to the trailer module.
If you post before this, I attached the wiring diagram for where they come from go to.
How this...
not for the 7-pin, also the Reverse signal need to be picked up
See below diagram:
Explanation in words:
The trailer control module has 2 fused feeds (fuse 91 and F107 for battery charger) these are both on the same connector (middle connector Module)
Connector on left side has your (2) CAN...

Wouldn't be easier to add the factory tow equipment (and a lot cheaper) then selling, and swapping out 1/4 of the dash?
I was able to add the tow hitch module, ect, and reprogram it in a weekend. it wasn't terribly difficult.
Double check the Towing, Trailering, Flat-Tow, Hitches forums.
There are a few threads on adding it afterwards.
I did detail how to add the module and wiring as you would get from the factory.
Update the IPC last it takes (3-4 hours or more) or make sure you know that before you start that module.
The abs and chdm modules will still show updates available after they have been updated. ( Even if you do it like 10 times.
Apparently that's a known issue. FYI
Just did it last weekend...
I'm meeting up with Darrell on Saturday afternoon( post 2:00 p.m.)
Location to be determined
If you want anything adjusted, just PM me. Will try to get everyone at one time.
Thanks!
On a side note/ Confirmation on others have said/ posted in the past.
Yesterday and today I've been updating all the modules using FDRS (I bought a two-day license).
I checked my current as built file from the motorcraft website. The trailer control module is part of my vehicles as...
Confirm The TRM has the same values as I listed, I doubled check and those where accurate (well they work for me)
And when you say "blue" wire what pin are you talking about specifically?
I am assuming you are talking about pin 3 on the 7-pin connector.
You need to have the brake controller...
Same thing.
It told me it updated to 1.9 way back when.
Although I never got the securityalert feature.
I wish there was a way to force an update, or tell me what is preventing it to update.
It should / will not light up without a load connected to it. Using a plug tester (led type) will not work either. I used some alligator clips and a cheap generic tail-light bulb from the autoparts store.
Using a lamp will make the knob light up/glow, and adjusting the knob will dim the lamp...
8 hours is not unreasonable honestly.
But should not have to open dash ( depends on location you want dial)

I am wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.
The last Ford Power-up version I have is 1.9.0 (SecuriAlert)
My FordPass App is up to date. (Android 4.22.0)
Sync Shows ver 145
I don't have The SecuriAlert option in the App, as well as other features that have been added. (I believe...
