This is fantastic. I'll be driving up from Concord, NC, so I might follow the northern half of your route exactly.
I'm currently trying to figure out the feasibility/logistics of road-tripping up there with my wife and two dogs... We'd have to offload all our camping gear out of our trade-in...
Hmmm. This situation kinda sucks. The manual trans is the main reason I became interested in the Bronco to begin with. Now that I'm finally scheduled, seeing that Ford seemingly has no fix for this issue is making me really undecided about moving forward.
A little noise now may not be a big...
My big question is... with Ford seemingly scheduling all the MT builds, does that mean they have a fix in their manufacturing process for the MT issue? Or are we all going to be stuck with our transmissions getting futzed with it our local dealers this fall once they start rattling and grinding? lol
Ha, remember late last year when we were contemplating Ford's ability to just get it over with and crank out all the remaining unscheduled reservations... but then we theorized they'd be more likely just say 'screw you' to any remaining res holders after 2023 and cancel their orders?
It's...
I wonder if John (and the SAC team) had had any idea way back at the start how this whole thing was going to go down, if they'd have still made their initial below-invoice offer on these forums? I have to think at this point the amount of time John spends keeping us up to date on all the latest...
100% this. I was originally a 2-door Badlands reservation. The Bronco was going to be purely a weekend toy for me. I figured I could add a bestop softop for 2dr, but I didn't want to deal with having to store a hardtop in my garage that I was never going to use... Plus all the initial quality...
I love that 2 years ago my no-options, 4 door, manual, soft top, big bend was about the easiest thing to get built, and now that there's a glimmer of hope that i might actually get scheduled this year... my build is now one of the most constrained. lol.
My thinking is, it's pretty rare that an employee from a dealership would actively engage customers on an internet forum. And I'm sure that's something John took on uniquely for SAC. So it's not surprising that no one else over there would post here. They wouldn't know where to begin!
I...
Apologize if this was already discussed earlier in the thread, but does anyone know if Ford acknowledged this issue with regards to correcting it for future vehicles/vehicles built after a certain date? Or is the "fix" still in process? I saw the TSB on the previous page.
I just ask because...
Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but I got an email from John last week saying that he's currently out recovering from a surgery. So that's why he hasn't posted anything here in a while. Just figured I'd share that in case others are wondering why he's gone radio silent.
Wait, so Ford explicitly sent out a release stating that a 2023 change was that all trims would get the 7 speaker system w/ sub then sent out a "mandatory delete" notice removing the sub from all trims that don't have Lux package? lol.
Ha, I'm on the fence. Should I be more upset about the way Ford has handled this? Probably.
But... there's still no other vehicle out there that "excites" me like the Bronco does. I'm sure that'll wear off eventually. But at the moment, I'm probably in the 99% that would just place another...
My take is, in the grand scheme of things it's such a relatively small number of reservation holders who are in "allocation hell" at SAC and Granger that Ford probably couldn't care less. What is it, a few hundred of us making a tiny bit of noise in this little corner of a forum on the internet...
I'm totally one of those Jeep drivers who stalkerishly follows Broncos when I see them and races around to try to keep up, drives beside them, etc, just to gawk at their vehicle. I never cut anyone off, though.
I haven't figured out yet if I should be peace-waving at Broncos. I feel like they...
Ford's definitely punishing us for ordering with SAC. lol.
Since I reserved, I've bought a 2016 Wrangler JKU and more recently a 2018 Subaru Forester. My "need" for the Bronco has completely gone out the window. I still "want" it, but at this point it makes zero practical sense to still get...
