First and last pictures are from the same spot I believe, just turned the rig around for different angles. If you’re running the trail from southeast to Northwest, it probably takes about an hour to get to that spot if you don’t stop. It took us closer to two and a half hours, because we wanted...
Spent Saturday on West Camino Cielo trail near Santa Barbara. Perfect weather and stunning lake, ocean and island views. Mostly fire road with some rocky sections. Skipped most of the offshoots as they were fairly steep and I was on my own. But will be back with friends for overnight camping.
My recommendations having just gone a few weeks ago (mostly easy trails):
Day 1- Bronco Offroadeo (think it was an offshoot of Dome Plateau/Kokopelli trail)
Day 2 - Tower Arch and 10-Mile Valley in Arches National Park (good way to get some easy trail riding while in the national park)
Day 3 -...
“Completed“ the install of my LOD transmission skid. Mechanic had already installed it but claimed he had to remove the transfer case skid. So I finished the job.
So you removed both of the skids in my picture above (when installing the LOD transmission skid)? Others are saying the asymmetric piece (transfer case skid) is compatible with LOD tranny skid?
Thanks. I think the top one is the stay-bar disconnect skid. I read somewhere else that the LOD skid probably covers that area. I think the other one is the transfer case skid?
@SS Bronco, it sure which trim you have, but did you have to remove these two OEM skid plates when installing the transmission skid.? The mechanics I went to said he couldn’t install the LOD skid without removing these, but claims the new skid cover the areas of these OEM skids (so I’m...
I just had my LOD transmission skid installed on my Badlands. The mechanic I used said he had to remove these two OEM pieces in order for the LOD skid to fit. He claims I have better coverage now and don’t need these OEM skids anymore. I wasn’t totally buying it, but he was insistent.
I’ve...
Technically, this weekend. Second oil change (~9,300 miles) on Friday. Bummed that dealer wouldn’t do the tire rotation because of aftermarket wheels
More exciting: took her up to Big Bear on Saturday and roamed around Holcomb Valley and various offshoots. Ended up on Holcomb Creek at one point...
Technically, yesterday. Took her up to Hungry Valley SVRA and things got a bit messy…
This was my first time visiting and I’ll definitely be back. Some parts were still closed due to the 2024 fire, but the open area had a lots of cool obstacles to work on various skills. Or you can just cruise...
Mainly cost (this one runs about $250-450 less than the other brands depending on coupon codes/sales) and ease of storage. You can fold this up so it takes up much less space when not in use.
I know it’s not a unique product, but pleasantly surprised at its sturdiness. Not as simple to operate as the TopLift, but this cost a few hundred less, is much more compact when not in use, and seems to tuck in a bit closer to the front end/hood when in use.
My main “complaint” is that I...
Very helpful, thanks!
Here's my general plan for 4 days (days will likely move around ) based on the input received (and some suggestions from Chat GPT!). Hoping this leaves some time for mid-day breaks/lunch (or picnics on the trail). Also tried to mix in some "on-road" site-seeing so my...
Thanks for all the responses. As many suggested, I did look into accommodations and since we are going up the first weekend of EJS, there is still a lot of availability. Managed to find something in $250 a night range, but many cheaper and more expensive options available. I imagine hotel...
Hi all, I’ve signed up for the Moab Off-Rodeo on Friday, April 11 and wanted some guidance considering it’s also the beginning of the Jeep Easter Safari week. Admittedly, probably not the best time to hit up Moab, but it lines up with my wife’s spring break schedule and the weather should be...
