  1. Tire pressure , off-roading. Stock 35.

I tend to lower mine to 20-22 psi anytime I’m off road. I don’t know how much it helps with grip vs the 35 psi I run on road, but definitely more comfortable. And one exception: if I’m in the sand dunes, I’ll go as low as 10 psi after learning a very hard lesson…
  2. IAG Soft Top EZ lift making it hard to clip in rear window

Thanks. I’ve definitely adjusted the “catch” bracket as far up as possible. Having looked at everything again, I think what’s happening is the small slipstream piece that sits behind the catch bracket pushes that bracket out just far enough that the latch on the soft top doesn’t engage as...
  3. IAG Soft Top EZ lift making it hard to clip in rear window

I may be having a related issue. I can install the rear window relatively easily, but when I try to close the window, it is is very difficult to engage the latches. I can usually get the right side to engage, but the left side is always a struggle. I usually resort to forcefully slamming the...
  4. is it worth trading up to the raptor?

Man, I think I have the bug too. So before I go through the trouble of installing on my ‘23 Badlands a bunch of things sitting in the garage that will also fit on a Raptor (I think), a question for the group. I know the Raptor is going to be a nicer ride on road compared to the SAS Bilsteins...
  5. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

More fun in the afternoon. Rattlesnake Canyon to Burns Canyon to Broom Flats.
  6. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Johnson Valley in the morning. Lunch at Cafe 247 (good burgers!).
  7. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Jawbone Canyon to the Kern River. Very mild trail/dirt road, but great scenery. Started in the high desert, climbed to 8,000 feet, rolled down to the Central Valley floor, and then back home. Loooong day (45 miles on dirt), but a lot of fun.
  8. MAXIMUS-3 FORD BRONCO REMOVABLE WINCH SADDLE

Thanks. Just put in the orders for both. Curious, do most of you who went the Maximus route mount the winch before you hit the dirt? Or keep it in the cargo area and mount it on only when the need arises? I’m debating tradeoff between (some/minimal?) loss of approach angle if you install first...
  9. MAXIMUS-3 FORD BRONCO REMOVABLE WINCH SADDLE

Question for the group: Does anybody know if the Ford kit includes frame horn reinforcements (and if they would work with the Maximus mount)? I'm about to purchase this Maximus mount and buy the Ford Performance Winch kit so I can get the Warn winch (don't currently own one and it's a good...
  10. Introducing the C2R—Compact Triple-Function Lighting | Diode Dynamics

Can we run these alongside your C1R hitch mounts using a single DD 7-pin harness? Ideally, I’d tie the spare tire mounted C2Rs and hitch mount C1R (which I already have) to the brake/reverse function and have the ability to turn the C2R on manually with an AUX switch. I would use the AUX feature...
  11. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Cleaned up (by my standards) my fog and A-pillar wiring. Beats the spaghetti soup I had for the past couple of years. Also, anybody know if I can temporarily disconnect the black (grounding?) cable to tuck the fog wire behind it? See second picture. Do I have to disconnect the positive and...
  12. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Spent yesterday afternoon on Bald Mountain in the Sierras. This was my second time running this trail - last time I took Bow Tie trail, which is the easier route. This time I took the main, more challenging trail. A lot of fun and perfect weather. Saw a few Broncos, including one nice looking...
  13. Spare tire mount reinforcement kit now available from Ford Performance Parts

Apologies if this has been asked already, but do you have to install the exoskeleton, or can you just install the beefier hinges and call it a day? I’m not a big fan of the look of the exoskeleton but do like the enhanced strength of the larger hinges.
  14. Kach's Badlands Build

Added the extension for the spare tire bumper. Kudos to the forum member who suggested using the standard dishwasher drain hose. Picked it up from Home Depot for $8 and cut it to size. For my 0 offset wheels, that was approximately 7/8” past the end of the existing Sasquatch stops.
  15. Kach's Badlands Build

This weekend’s project. Step one complete. Now if I can just muster up the coverage to install this myself….
  16. Soft Top <--> Hard Top Swap : Tips & Lessons Learned - UPDATED

If you're willing to rent/loan to me next, I'd appreciate it. I couldn't get the soft top seat correctly on the left side and it's very tough getting that side to latch shut. Happy to pay shipping and a reasonable fee!
  17. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Spent a few hours today cruising and having a picnic on some dirt north of Santa Clarita. Pretty tame trails, but made for a scenic drive. Pictures are at the top of Grass Mountain.
  18. Kach's Badlands Build

Spent the past couple of days getting her ready for the official start of summer. First, a good wash to get rid of most of the mud and sand from the last couple of trips. Then, on to removing the hardtop and swapping in the soft top. I’m calling this project an 85% success. For some reason, we...
  19. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

More fun at Pismo today (though a much tamer experience). We must have been carrying heavier gear and luggage than I realized - first time I’m seeing the rig sit level.
  20. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Spent yesterday at the Oceano dunes. Messed around and found out... Pics are me sinking into a not so steep hill with very soft sand. Let go of the throttle too soon. Fortunate to find a stranger within a few minutes who got us unstuck and then spent the next hour teaching us how to drive in...
