Good to know a thinner and more permanent material is a possible solution s well. I have a bunch of clear PPF so I’m going to try that as well. It would be nice not to have to keep track of the foam every time I take the panels off.
Thanks! Yes I've definitely been planning. Ultimately I would like a roof rack once someone makes one for the 4DR MIC that is priced reasonably. Even roof rails that would allow any number of aftermarket rack options would be great, but still waiting... Ford doesn't seem interested in providing...
I used some 3/4 x 6in pine I happened to have. Three 3/4 in thick supports is plenty strong enough for two large adults and allows for more storage under the rear deck than 2 in thick supports. Two inch supports would work fine, I just happened to have some pine pieces that worked. 2 x 8's would...
No problem. Unfortunately the when the back seat folds up it makes contact with the front edge of the rear sleeping deck so having anything permanently protruding as in your photo with the red squares would prevent the seat from folding up into the usable position. My original plan was to have...
Thanks lol. I tried to consider the questions other members might have and create a post with the kind of detail I've seen in some great posts on this forum and trying to give back to a community that has been very helpful so far in my Bronco journey! I took a lot of time to plan the build so...
I thought I would post the details of my sleeping deck build as I'm sure others will be interested in doing something similar, and I would like to try and contribute to the 6G community and express my gratitude for what has been such a great resource for me.
I used 3M spray adhesive (similar to...
Thanks! The way I built it is certainly not the only way it could be done, and I welcome ideas that members may have for improvements. Hopefully my build encourages others to come up with an even better system. If I were to do it again I probably would carpet the edge of the decks where they...
No problem. I just posted some photos that should answer your questions. Because the rear seat doesn't sit completely level, and the folded rear seat is higher than the floor in the rear as stock, the rear deck has to be built higher than rearward edge of the folded down back seat to get the...
EDIT: I’ve posted a separate build thread with more detail here: https://www.bronco6g.com/sleeping-deck-build-in-4-door-bronco/
I still need to create a separate detailed thread when I have time, but this should help show more detail and give a rough idea of measurements. I'm happy to answer any...
Is the oil prime feature a Ford thing? The Bronco is my first Ford and I've never seen it before. Cool feature. Just did an oil change and was able to utilize this feature.
Thanks for the kind words. I will get some more detailed photos tomorrow in the daylight and will create another thread with details so I’m not hijacking this thread. I’m happy to help other folks save some time in their builds and get them out enjoying their Broncos and staying comfortably...
I need to create a post with more details. Just been very busy with the holiday, etc.
Yes the platform is removable. The fit is nice and snug so it doesn’t move at all when I’m driving off road, yet I can lift it up and pull it out. I cut the edge that is nearest to the rear hatch in such a way...
I recently built a sleeping deck in my four door and covered the plywood with marine grade carpet from Amazon (link below). I used 3M spray adhesive (similar to contact cement) from Lowes and used staples on the underside of the plywood to hold in place securely. I’m very happy with how it...
