Only my 1967 bronco is louder. There is no excuse for how loud my 2 door Sas is. You canāt have a conversation over 60 mph. No doubt that the shitty Goodyear MTās are part of the problem and the grooved concrete freeways in SoCal are a particular issue with these tire. When I have to drive...
I donāt have a horse in this race but I know one thing for certain about damage control. In the void of factual information people will typically fill it with their own theories and those are often far worse than the truth.
I love Wildpeaks and have them on my 1967 bronco and 2016 Range Rover full size BUT the new AT4W is 76 pounds! You will definitely notice a 20 pound per tire weight increase.
The rear took me 5 hours. I'm sure the front including the doors will be another 5 hours. It's a PIA but there is no way I can do a 9 hour road trip with this interior noise. I would have to use my Air Pods on noise cancelling it live through it.
Like you I question how much the base layer of 80 mil is actually adding or if one layer of 3 in 1 will yield a similar result with half the effort. That said, I am desperate to drop the interior noise level and this is definitely an improvement. The next step is to dump the Goodyears for some...
I spent 5 hours installing sound deadening material in the back of my 2 door. The base layer is 80 mil butyl and then a layer of 200 mil Hybrid 3-1 on top. As the OP pointed out, in the 2-door the rear wheel wells are particularly close to the front passengers and Ford puts zero deadening...
I completely agree. In 1985 I could take my Jeep on 32ā tires with a rear locker and front posi almost anywhere. Now my BaseSquatch seems to be the minimum on the same trails.
I posted basically the same question and was told that it wouldn't work. That said, I'm not so sure that's entirely true. The front strut mount is different but I'm unclear if that means the UCA mount is different. I suppose that a custom coilover could be made to fit the standard bronco...
I certainly wasn't giving Ford a pass for this potato chip that they call a hardtop. Just pointing out that they don't actually make it. Ford does assemble most of the major components on the car even if the parts come from outside vendors. The top is one of the few large components that they...
Remember that Ford doesn't actually make these tops. They are made by Webasto but I'm not sure who actually did the original engineering on them. In theory the honeycomb composite sandwich seems like a sound design. Some of the tops don't have any issues and others are a shit show like the...
Perhaps I'm missing something but wouldn't that mean whatever the relay is triggering will be on whenever the fog lights are off..... daytime for example.
Very cool article. Focusing on the front end it would appear that the shock towers are the only locating point that is different from the regular bronco. The lower control arms brackets are the same but I canāt tell if the upper control arm attach in the Same location.. Likely not worth the...
After looking at the cost of the Baja Kits long travel front suspension, I starting wondering if anyone has tried installing the Bronco Raptor front suspension components on a regular Bronco. At minimum you would need the UCA, LCA, Coilovers, axle shafts, and tie rods.... anything else?
