HELL no. These things rocketing into the side of your skull when those airbags blow sounds suicidal.
I've been in a Bronco crash and would definitely not have wanted these bolted in front of the airbags.
I want to know this too. I dont know if its even possible but even a small rack (thing cargo hitch carrier size) up there would be useful to carry some stuff without impeding the soft top functionality. No idea what's structurally possible. I assume you need to triangulate somehow but no real idea.
It may be easier to just level out the trunk like plenty of other people have done. The OEM Ford slide out taligate does it (I dont think I've seen it for sale yet) or I know some people have just made a simple platform.
Why? You can wrap a strap around the whole roll bar and attach the hammock that way. This will also allow you to wrap the hammock over the top and give you a bit more height too.
Believe me I went through months of "waiting for parts" bullshit only to get reimbursed for a vehicle rental by ford corporate with a preloaded debit card that I obviously cannot use to actually pay off the credit card bill for the vehicle rental.
Oh and... no response from them for 2 weeks...
@Shark1247 Yeah all about whats visible in your truck! I will never blame anyone except the scum that smashed the window but this was avoidable. I'll be more diligent on my sweeps of the car in future.
I wont go full enclosure but I will be adding a cargo shelf in the future to obsure what's in...
Just adding my voice here to confirm that its normal but yeah that initial install is tight. They did that so that its a perfect fit as too tight is way better than too loose.
Anyone got any good recommendations for some trails up near-ish Kent WA? Obviously happy to drive and have driven some cool spots near Greenwater and Snoqualmie but would love to see what you guys have been exploring!
Yeah I'm waiting on my hammerbuilt stuff but decided that 2 gallons would be better used as a water rotopax. I may stack a fuel can with the extension but should be ok.
I'm primarily in it for the tailgate reinforcement as Irun a bike rack on my spare and have traction boards strapped on top.
Already following you guys on Instagram! @broncoandbruce
I started my 4th at 0:00 putting a brisket on the smoker. Had some friends over, did some grilling. Little bit of top down cruising in the Bronco. It was great!!
