This 2 inch pad really works on sound deadening!
I would consider @Dirtydog if you can roll it back without completely taking it off. Does it let you do it?
Changed my dash kickers to Alpine and agree, the sound is different. I did while waiting for the warranty replacement on my Kickers. Now, I have a set of new Kickers to sell in the box.
How much reduction in noise have you noticed? I couldn't get an answer from Dirtydog.
In my OB most of the noise comes from the back windows, there is a huge market to add a layer to the back windows to reduce noise.
This is a very interesting video that tests soft top vs. hard top vs. no top sound level comparison.
The test showed both hard top and soft to at 60 or 70 MPH have the same level of dB and during idle or 20 MPH only 1 dB different. Not sure how accurate this is but still interesting....
I contacted them a few times last year but no response for soft top headliner. Not clear why they have not developed one, maybe waiting to see if others will come out with one first.
That is a lot of respectable work to deaden the sound, not sure I would be up to it.
I think most of us getting most of the noise from rear and side windows. Any ideas how to deaden those? I am looking at clear vinyl to add thickness.
Dirtydog has a headliner which claims to reduce noise but...
I am mainly interested in the noise reduction. Have you done any test, thus the reason for asking if it is going to be thicker in the future?
Can it seat on top of the Bimini top?
@Dirtydog I would like to know if your coupon still valid. Interested to get the headline and open to leave a review. If this is a good product, needs a wider audience. Most of soft top owners would be open to have a quieter cabin.
Just curious, why is the Bronco version not capable of being...
I agree with above. Despite the road noise, I am very happy with the soft top and the easy of opening it up. AC cools fast and heater the same in Texas weather. I am looking at dirty dog product since it is modular and I can remove it anytime quickly but it is pricey.
I love the soft top but hoping someone has an attachment to help lower the noise. Is there an aftermarket product that provides sound deadening for the soft top?
Plus once in a while, I need to slam the doors to avoid having wind noise, anyone else noticed the same.
How is the sound with Alpines on the front and Kicker on the back? I have KickersCSC4 4 Inch front/back but one of the front is having distortion and looking to replace with Alpine SS40 per Crutchfield.
