I have one in the console and like it. Like most consumer safes, it will not stop a determined thief with time and pry tools. But it will easily stop an opportunistic thirty second smash and grab, which is what I bought it for.
To be honest, I have no idea what type of "image" a Bronco projects.
I see all types of people in Broncos. Hell, I bought mine because the Second Gen Bronco was the first car I drove as a teen.
I guess if the image is an early 80's teen rocking out to Van Halen, I've succeeded!
56. Four Door. Both children away at college.
Easier for a backseat passenger to get in & out with the four door. I also wanted the longer wheelbase.
B Pillar placement doesn't bother me a bit (I'm 6'0").
Can't go wrong either way.
EH?
First 1200 miles I'm getting 20.26 (based on actual mileage and gallons at the pump, not the mpg tracker, which is higher).
Driving home yesterday, 336 miles, with cruise set at 83 for much of the way, my MPG tracker listed 20.2. This is likely around 18.8 MPG actual.

First vehicle I drove as a teenager was a 1978 Bronco in Red like the one below. Staring out the nearly vertical windshield and looking over that long red hood reminds me of my youth. Last night I was driving home and had a "Best Rock of 1981"...
You have an NDA out to them and you are posting about it on a public forum? I wonder what the language of this NDA actually is….
Take a chill pill. Get the chip repaired. The dealer said they would pick up the tab.
crap happens. Just today I read two threads here from guys who had their...
Keeping records and receipts is certainly an option.
But I don't want to bother keeping records and receipts (I have enough stuff to track), and if something goes wrong with the engine I would rather not have to gather two or three years of records and receipts to prove I did my part...
Ha, good point. Niche was an incorrect characterization. What I meant to convey was EVs have a place where the owners are not going to be taking long drives across the country or using their vehicle for towing and hauling (e.g., a contractor hauling a pickup load of building materials).
I...
I really don't know where I stand on this. I don't like strikes. That being said, the UAW has some concerns about EVs and losing jobs to make way for EV production. In that regard, they have my sympathies. As I have said before, EVs have a place, and that market should emerge organically...
I loathe strikes, but I loathe hive-mind stupidity even more:
" While discussing the pay raises demanded by the UAW in negotiations and pay raises for CEOs, Farley said that they have offered pay raises and are open to big pay increases, but the 40% that the UAW is asking for is too much and...
Big Bingo there.
I bought a red OBX Bronco in memory of a red 1978 Bronco that was the first car I drove as a teenager. I think that Gen2 Bronco had the 400, with a whopping 160 HP. With the accelerator buried, that beast maxed at 85 mph (but with no head wind)! Almost 14 seconds to get to...
