Make sure they don't order the Ford Accessory kit. They need to use the numbers that @Ducati1098 posted if they're going to try to tag on the warranty claim. If they already ran the claim they may be SOL and have to eat.

If you're taking the whole thing out prop up on driver side and remove. Should limit fluid loss, not sure if it's ATF or some other type of hyd oil but should be easy to top off with some sort of neutral oil.
I can't believe Ford doesn't sell a replacement sensor, well, I can, but that's beside the point. Someone makes that sensor for that unit so they're probably available commercially if it can be cross referenced by the numbers on it or by the mark on the plastic on the connector socket.

There have been some updates since it was new but can't say if that was OTA/Wi-Fi or if a dealer did them during the course of some other repairs.
One other thing to try is connecting your vehicle to a wi-fi network (house/work) to give the modem another option beside the cell network.
