I believe the OP was talking about 285's on 18" diameter wheels. You are correct, the 285/70-17 will fit fine with a "close to stock" back spacing.

I went down the "Optima" road once. I bought a blue top for my boat, it didn't make it a whole season.:mad: I'm in my mid 60's now, bought all types of batteries for all types of machines, Optima was my worst experience with a battery by far.

It's amazing how much they beat on a "new" vehicle to disassemble. I guess if they got a Gen 1 Bronco in the shop, they would break out the 20 lb. maw and just beat it to smithereens.

I should have taken the picture of the Bronco on what looked like 38's or 40's get stuck on the hill in the beginning of the sand course. More to do with driver error. I'm so glad the rain held off until the afternoon.

I disagree. Keeping the tire OD the same, with a smaller rim OD you have more room on the side wall so when airing down the contact patch grows a little wider but also "longer". For every increase in rim size on the same tire diameter the contact is being less when airing down.

17's have much more of a choice for tires. Anything above that you get pigeonholed into more heavy-duty tires for trucks. And if you air down for a larger contact patch or flotation, smaller rim is the way to go.

But..But.....But.......I always made it under that bridge when I was hauling Mustangs.😰

I have some electric home/lawn care tools that work very well. An electric pressure washer isn't one of them. That's just one of the things that I have found, a gas engine one does better.
