OK - Trying to plan out next phase of upgrade. I'm pretty much set on going with the Kicker 500.1 amp and Kicker 8" sub upgrade route - not much $ saved with a small powered sub. While I'm pulling everything apart I might as well do the kick panel speakers. The Memphis speakers seem to be...
Thanks for the input - my other idea is to add a powered underseat/compact sub vs going the 500.1 amp and Kicker sub upgrade route. Just want a little more bass, not so much that my kid goes deaf in the back seat. Main goal is to only rip into the kicker area once - can run a powered sub off...
I have the stock amp and kick panel speakers in now. I’m debating putting in the Memphis ones posted on another thread soon or wait and do it along with the subwoofer and amp upgrade.
I have the SSV Pods with the SSV speakers. Definitely noticed a big difference - especially with the B&O. Turned me on to working on the whole system. I went with the Hertz for the front speakers - might switch out the SSV for 6.5 Hertz down the road.
I also have the B&O - posted on this thread earlier - did the Hertz and PRV in the center. Wasn't totally thrilled with the center (kind of "tinny" and wound up running in stereo), so got another Hertz and installed in the center. Threw everything off. Now center is blaring and I hear a...
Hoping for some help here - looking at this thread and others I wound up going with Hertz 100.3 in the corners and the PRV in the center. At first I liked it but the PRV sounded a little "tinny" to me - wound up running in stereo to reduce the center channel effect. Was able to get my hands on...
Update: Judged too soon. After a few more drives, found the center with the Hertz overpowering, and on many songs there is a "hiss" undertone - only on certain music though - so not a speaker defect...also seems to be less "loud" - have to turn it up to 22 with doors and roof off - was fine...
OK - just swapped the Hertz for the PRV and as far as my ear goes - MUCH improved. Happy to run in surround now. Would recommend swapping all three over the PRV personally, but everyone's ear is different...
Will do. The Hertz are still sold out on Crutchfield, but now $100 on Amazon...tempting for the center switch-out. I too like running in surround mode, but switched to stereo just to try (only installed a week ago) and liked it more...if the Hertz is better in surround than the PRV, then it's...
Wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on the center channel debate - PRV vs what you are running in the L and R front - Hertz in my case w/ PRV center. I was initially impressed with the setup but certain songs were "tinnny" - but when I switched from surround to stereo I found it to be...
I'm in the exact same position right now - did all the main speaker upgrades, now looking into the sub - what did you wind up going with? I'm confused if I need the Plug and Play kit with the 500.1 amp and Kicker sub and how to wire it. I'm pretty much resolved that just a sub replacement w/out...
Thanks for the tip on the Morel's...I impulsed bought the rear 6.5" SSV pods with SSV speakers a few months ago which led me down the road of B&O upgrade lol. Wish I read the forum more extensively before the SSV speakers but can always change them out (but they did improve the sound that much...
Just wanted to thank the OP for the post - just installed the Hertz 100.3 4" and love them - also have the SSV Works pods with the SSV speakers and pretty happy with the result...sub upgrade may be next B&O system.
Know this thread is dated, but wanted to thank the OP for helping me decide on the Hertz 100.3 for my B&O fronts...installed them yesterday and EXTREMELY pleased...
@jgauthier - did you install the 4" Kenwood dash speakers? How was the install and sound if you did? Like you, I found them to be the best sounding on the Crutchfileld site, but everyone seems to like Infinity as well - I actually like the Kicker CS 2nd best...
Question - does the power connection have to be hooked up on the passenger headlight harness? I'm just planning on hooking up the AVS lightshield first - and only need to hook up to signal wire for left turn signal. Would prefer using this product on both sides anyway so I don't splice directly...
