This used to be true, but I think Nokian themselves have stated that tire technology has advanced to the point that studs are not really necessary for the majority of the lower 48. Alaska and *Canada (*mountainous or remote areas) would be the only places I would run studs. I live in Bozeman, MT...
I will likely be getting the AAL version of the rear shelf. My dog crate should *just* fit under it. That shelf you can actually mount drawers on the underside of the shelf which is ideal for me since I carry a lot of long items that aren’t very tall (skis, camp chairs, camp table, etc).
That’s awesome. I have a wild track ordered and I can’t wait. Lots of washboard and rocky rutted roads here in Montana. How’s the nose dive under braking and turning corners faster?
What were you running for tire pressures? Any negatives for snow wheeling?
I don’t have my bronco yet but snow wheeling is one of the things I’m most excited about. Living vicariously through others trying to keep the stoke alive.
Yeah, the GFC is very strong too. I could stand on it pretty easily. The Superlite does not have the cross bars that the Solo has. I want to minimize weight on the roof and since I plan on adding an awning, etc, the 80lb weight of the solo is very attractive.
Any downsides or negatives? The...
I thought it was a terrapod. I had a go fast camper on my truck before I sold it a few weeks ago. Terrapod is in the running for a RTT on the bronco, particularly the solo. I need the ability to either remove the tent until I need to use it, or be able to store stuff up there while it's still...
Here's an option that I have contemplated. I am interested in 'swing arm' bumpers but the thought of opening a swing arm, a bike rack on a swing out, and the back door sounds like a hassle. This is the only integrated wheel/pakrax/maxtrax carrier I have seen with a second hitch dedicated to...
When you have good traction and are driving in a mostly straight line, 4A will engage the front wheels which might feel similar to 4H but allows for slip. I know that when I test drove the bronco a few times if I floored it the vehicle felt a little squirrely. Is it pulling or just feel 'different'?
Do the OME springs lift the bronco when installed on a Sasquatch package? Looking to offset the bumper weight increase but I do NOT want a lift above Sasquatch height.
Personally, unless you are actually rock crawling, I'd opt for the lightest sliders you can depending on how much static weight you are adding to the bronco. HOSS 2.0 and 3.0 are position sensitive dampers, which means any 'sag' in the suspension pushes the dampers out of their ideal range into...
A friendly reminder that while the Bronco is amazing, all of the tech and capabilities do not replace smart driving. There is 7 inches of snow on the ground here in Bozeman and as usual people are driving like they haven't seen snow before. Stay safe and remember a broken Bronco will...
I have noticed some of the aftermarket rims appear to 'tuck in' a bit further so the tire would keep most things off the rims. Doesn't protect against rocks smaller than the circumference of the wheel, but could be an option.
I would be very interested in an option for those who have removed the seats from the 2-door. A 36" or 48" drawer would be cool. Maybe 4-6" high. Ideally split so you could have a drawer only take up half or have two drawers that would create a flat surface again. I know that it's tricky since...
My tents are all as light as I can make them, so unfortunately I don’t have any 4-season or domed tents. I used to work at REI though and I know a lot about tents. A larger (not necessarily domed) tent that I’d be confident in for true western winters is going to be ~$1000. If I had to buy a...
Are there any springs that would accommodate heavier bumpers but not lift the vehicle?
I ordered a wildtrack and I don’t want to replace the suspension. The fox shocks are position sensitive and I was told that additional weight on the vehicle, and therefore sagging, might put the shocks out of...
Not sure what tent you are referencing but there is a 4 person dome tent that is good for winter listed here: https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-gear/camping/best-winter-tents/
I have dealt with many dealers from different car brands and Ford dealers have so far been the worst experience by a large margin. I shouldn't have to search across the state (or out of state) to find a knowledgeable dealer with literally any customer service abilities.
EDIT: This doesn't add...
Have you noticed any change to driving dynamics?
I am waiting for GFC to re-release their superlite tent because I was worried about weight above the roof line. I had the GFC platform camper on my stock tacoma and the body roll and nose dive from that weight high up was pretty bad. Made...
