I'm interested to see someone install and then mod their interior to accommodate / integrate a single or twin stick.
Beyond the off road aspects of not having a component fail and leave you stranded, I'm wondering about those that want the extra insurance when flat towing that your transfer...
The FJ is a stout rig and the passenger compartment is set fairly far back from the front bumper. When I had one I remember an accident where an FJ got sandwiched being hit from behind and pushed into another vehicle. This on an interstate...you could open and close the doors, and no injuries...
Lux and the color black. However, I bought mine out of the showroom as an abandoned order so I really didn't have a choice. Lux is ok but I could live without every one of the features. Black...looks good when clean and otherwise looks ok (my second black vehicle).
I'm glad I got a 2022...
I applaud them for offering different packages each year. This one is ok but generally blah for myself. I get offering it in the volume leader 4 door, but if you are only offering a limited number, why not in 2 door? If someone is going to add it to a collection, they will buy the 2 door just...
I'd do shop vac and then you could dust as needed.
FYI, I've had good luck with individual flying insects using windex to get them to stop flying. I think the surfactant in the cleaner helps the liquid stick to the wings and make it hard to fly. You could use that for individual ones after...
While that sux, you have a good story to tell when you're an old man. I had something similar but mine was rolling my truck over on its side. I didn't have a tandem pull but did have a Jeep Scrambler with a 454 and locked FS axles / 44s still have to pull cable to get up hills.
I hated it at...
Good for you OP. And this is why I don't care for soft tops. Just not my thing despite having owned several soft top vehicles (long story as it was the only way to get the vehicles in question). My '75 has never had its hard top off.
Yes you should put your drivetrain components through their paces on a regular basis. No need to do it through the drive modes, but use the transfer case buttons and switches on the dash. I try to do it once a month or every 2 months at most. I try to do this on the gravel road leading to my...
If you start drilling out, you could also start with left handed drill bits. Sometimes the drilling action will get them to start turning out. Did that once for a bolt that sheared off in an aluminum block.
Exactly. And that is why I bailed on flat towing my Bronco. First I picked up a Mini Cooper (base) and eventually the Colorado that I'm now prepping for towing. I love my Bronco and would love to have it on our adventures with the RV. I just don't trust that I won't have a failure taking out...
OK, now you are bringing back bad memories. Except mine was more due to a bad parking brake. The lockers and portals just allowed me to play with the big boys. That was a late night on the trail and a long next day recovering. And calling the wife to tell her I was going to be an extra day...
A rear locker also helps reduce trail damage from excessive wheel spin. It allows you to use less throttle so less stress for the whole drivetrain. I've had lockers front and rear since '99 in a variety of vehicles (one with 2 rear lockers). Rear locker early, front locker when needed...
While nice, that still has the MIC top. If I were buying new, I would try fairly hard to get a MOD top. That coming from someone who has one of the good MIC tops. I treat it as kindly as I can but I know that it won't last the life of the vehicle.
