Those are the monster desert race/Ultra 4 racks. Not too practical for a stock-ish Bronco.
Adding to your 3.0 rack?
Sweet Racing does some racks with add-on assist rams. Might be a place to get some ideas for that.
@BAUS67 has it right.
Even the biggest desert hydro race racks still have a mechanical connection, they just use an external hydro ram, instead of an internal power assist. So they would still be classified as hydro assist.
Funny they would say that....Backspacing and offset are just different ways to say the exact same thing. Here is a conversion chart:
Backspace is measured from the back of the wheel, at the wheel mounting face to the outside edge of the wheel.
Offset is measured from the centerline of the...
The OE Sasquatch wheel, like in the pic below, has a +30mm offset, so that 25mm Icon Rebound will have 5mm more poke than a Sasquatch.
I would've rather gone with a 25mm offset, but TeraFlex only had the Nomads in a 0mm offset.
For the Icon Rebound wheels, have you seen our video on the...
Do you have a lift?
We have a 3/4" spacer in the front and a 1/4" spacer in the rear and I can get the fronts to rub the flares at full compression. No rubbing steering L to R.
The stock wheels on a Big Bend have a +55 offset.
If you put a 0mm offset wheel on your Bronco, the tire will stick out just over 2"s more than they do now.
Installing a 25mm offset wheel, your tires will stick out just over 1" more than they do now.
Both will work.
In this video, we install...
@Bestop announced their new flares awhile back. They have that squared off look and fit the round fender openings.
They don't say how wide these are. To me, they look like non-Squatch width. Hopefully they are working on some wider ones.
The bigger engine will always be more desirable.
If we look at the used Jeep Wrangler market, the 4 doors, Rubicon models and V-6s have always had a higher resale value than 2 doors, non-Rubis and 4 cyl. models.
Translated into Bronco, that'd be the 4 door and the Badlands, Wildtrak, FE models...
Locking and non-locking axle shafts are different lengths due to the center pin offset difference in the locking differential. Same as the Rubicon vs. non-Rubicon shafts in the Jeeps.
The wife and I have spent a ton of time out solo on trails and snow covered backroads that we probably shouldn't have been on without a winch or another vehicle.
BUT and it's a big BUT.... We did carry a Hi-Lift jack, shovel, axe, recovery boards, straps etc. And have the know-how to use that...
Bumping it because it's that time of year.....
Happy Bigfoot Day everyone!
October 20th 1967 - Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin shot what might be the most disputed piece of film in history:
Stabilized HD 60fps:
Wow, some sort of horse/duck thing??? That's horrible...
I hear you Todd, my inner curmudgeon agrees, leave my Bronco alone! :devilish:
Though I do get why people do it. The whole club, clan, feeling of camaraderie thing. So if it brings a warm fuzzy feeling to them by doing it, I won't...
