  1. Friday in the Forest - Kilchis Falls

I took Friday off from work and headed into the Tillamook Forest, again. It's been raining lately so a nice warm spring day was welcome. Plus the rivers and waterfalls would be going good. Plus a chance to fly the drone up the waterfall. And to get away. Oh, and for some fresh fish and chips...
  2. Hood River Snow Day

I haven’t been to the north side of Mt. Hood out of Hood River much so went out with the Bronco Boys to explore. We didn’t get too far before the snow got too deep. So we went another way… until the snow got too deep. But we saw snow, we shoveled snow, we used a lot of gear to get out of the...
  3. Engine fire destroys Bronco in Portland

Posted at my work. Was apparently in their parking garage. Not theirs. About all the details so far. And a 2 door. Y'alls 2 doors just got more rare!
  4. Last Ride of 2024 - Washougal, Washington

The Bronco Boys headed out for one last ride in 2024. We headed up north of Washougal River Road. Took a wrong turn somewhere and headed up a trail that was “bumpy”. The belly pans got some lovin’ and we almost got to the end of the trail when the obstacles got insurmountable. It probably would...
  5. Visit to Mt. Baker for Christmas

Update to this post to actually add context. I headed out Mt. Baker Highway and turned off at Mosquito Lake. Normally I avoid any location with mosquito in the name but being December I thought the risks of mosquitoes was going to be low. I had scouted a route via onXoffroad to go along the...
  6. Into the clouds above Idiot Creek

It was time to get out into the Tillamook Forest again (otherwise known as Friday). Someone at work posted a spot they had camped at and I had to ask where. Idiot Creek they said. Now I’d never heard of Idiot Creek and I’m pretty sure if I had. For people who have heard of Browns Camp this...
  7. Exploring the Tillamook Forest

This wasn’t some grand adventure. I was just out for the afternoon to map some trails for onXoffroad. I had recently been in the same area a few weeks earlier but it had been rainy and snowing so I didn’t get to see the views.
  8. DD Chase/Reverse/Brake Light Options

@4x4TruckLEDs.com So I believe I have this kit from you from way back (I got it for the Christmas before I even got the Bronco). Currently I have the amber covers. The lights works as such, red running lights, white (amber with covers) backup lights and white (amber with covers) chase lights...
  9. Alignment Shop wants to calibrate Cameras

I called the local Les Schwab store to make an appointment to get an alignment. I just put on new tires and I noticed some wear on the insides of the old tires,, which I assume is related to the extra weight of the winch. The person mentioned that they recommend recalibrating the camera and...
  10. Wolfbox X5 Review and Torture Test

Previously I had reviewed the Wolfbox G900 and found it too big and cumbersome. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/wolfbox-g900-dash-cam-review.96345/ So then I was sent the X5. With these cameras the ask is apparently to see if these cameras are viable for off-roading. I am not reviewing...
  11. When is an off-road tire worn out?

Traditionally car tires are worn when there are 1/16 left. That's obviously not practical for an off road tire. So is there a standard for off road tires or is it more a matter of when you feel there isn't enough tread left to be effective? Edited to say these have almost 30k miles on them.
  12. Labor Day with the Bronco Boys - Video

The No Double Honk Bronco Boys heads out for the Labor Day weekend to Eastern Oregon. This area has been on my bucket list for a while. While we all left at different times we somehow all managed to meet up as needed. For me seeing Alvord Desert was pretty cool. Pushing the Bronco out there was...
  13. Broncos Invade Eastern Oregon

Labor Day adventure. Left Portland Thursday afternoon and camped out just past Bend in Dry Creek. Nice spot off the road. The next day met up with more of the crew at Fields Station near Alvord Desert. I literally put my finger on the map in the middle of the lake bed and that’s where we ended...
  14. HF Roadshock Edge Roof Lights - Install

I'm deep into the planning phase so this will be ongoing. I've bought the wiring, relay, etc. but only have one light so far. I'm waiting for a nice HF coupon before getting the other four lights. Because I'm not an electrical engineer (or anything close to that) it took a while to figure out...
  15. Wolfbox G900 Dash Cam Review

I had the pleasure of reviewing the G900 Dash Cam and put together a video of the unboxing and partial installation, along with my thoughts. There's a few seconds of driving video although I hope to have much more in the future.
  16. Murphy Guard Station

There's not a lot of info when I did a cursory search for Guard Stations but the best I've found is that they were actual homes for Forest Service workers (compared to the more sparse lookout towers) in the woods. I have yet to find information about this specific location, but seeing it called...
  17. Tahoe Lake, no not Lake Tahoe!

Took the kids into the woods to enjoy the views... and throwing rocks into the water. Plus some cool drone footage flying up a waterfall.
  18. Finding the real Wolf Point, Tillamook Forest

So the goal today was to find the real Wolf Point, out in the Tillamook Forest, which I did. I say the real Wolf Point because I had previously found a location and mistakenly thought it was Wolf Point. Maps can be deceiving. I started on Cedar Butte, then to Wolf Point and then all the way to...
  19. Sasquatch Tire conundrum

I was out in some pretty mild off road conditions (mostly gravel roads) and at regular tire pressure (39psi) and got a flat. Found a hole (although nothing indicating what caused the hole) so swapped to the spare. Got home and tried to plug the hole and then found another leak. Plugged that one...
  20. Northern Lights viewing trip at South Triangulation Point by No Double Honk Bronco Crew

The No Double Honk Bronco Crew headed back out to Triangulation Point (more specifically South Triangulation Point) to catch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean and then to wait for the Northern Lights. Afterwards we stopped at Kilchis Falls to see what it looked like dark. It was an amazing night...
